How does NBC relate to local offices?

When you file N-400 while your I-751 application is pending, your I-751 application will be transfered to NBC and passed down to your local office so that they can be adjusted together, resulting in a joint interview.

I-751 VSC EAC18019XXX filed Oct 2017

Status: April 9, 2018 at local office

N400 filed Dec 2018

Processing times for i-751 now says they on August but I'm wondering if anyone on the same boat tried calling USCIS regardless to see what's up. I haven't got no transfers nor rfes.

I know they hate when you inquire about cases within processing time window but they the ones pushing that goal post further and further. I remember back in September, they were approving June cases. Today we are in March, which is 6 months later counting from Sept. In 6 months they only moved from June to August. It's barely a 2 months of progress within a half year window.

How long does it take to realize that you are short staffed? And to act on it?

Are more people marrying now than ever?

Do we have any stats over the years corroborating a 751 spike during Trump's administration?

95-99% of applications end up getting approved anyway. It's not like USCIS were cutting corners before and now all of sudden they started taking their jobs recently? It doesn't make sense that the slow down is purely coincidental ...Im starting to feel like it's a deterrent scheme. Have we had any public statement from USCIS expressing concerns over application processing delays and why? If there were a lot of fake applications caught, I'd understand the delays with extra screening and vetoing but I haven't seen any evidence of that. Who else thinks that this is a tactic?

Well... It's not about people marrying.  Its about illegals getting really active to became legal in any possible way. Seen statistics where numbers of illegals applications raised in 100s times comparing with 2016.

This can happen but not always. I filed for i751 January 2018 and I applied for citizenship this year in January. Yesterday I got an approval letter for my green card from the CSC dated 03/05/2019. Both websites haven’t updated at all and my case was never transferred. Who knows how USCIS handles each case. I have seen many cases like what you mention, who get joint interviews. Hopefully everyone will hear good news soon! 🤞🏼

I was supposed to my Naturalization interview tomorrow but I got a call from uscis officer on Friday that it has been rescheduled because they don’t have my i751 file and they just called the Cali office to get it.

Is this usual?

It still shows that interview scheduled and nothing shows it’s rescheduled online. Wondering if it will take a long time to reschedule

Hopefully not... I suspect it may remain in that status until they receive your I751 and they reschedule it.

I really don’t know why they keep doing this. It’s so frustrating waiting all these days and few days to interview, they cancel

It is frustrating. I read from other blogs , they usually do this due to resources constrains, also i read that some IO cancel this because the system automatically generates the days and it is too soon for the IO to coordinated all the papers for the interview. so they De-schedule and reschedule at later dates.

So I have my i751 pending and I applied for n400 January 2019, got interview scheduled in April 2nd, I contacted my senetor before I applied for n400 , now they sent me a letter updated saying that I will get an interview scheduled letter soon for i751 in April 17. Does it mean I will have 2 seperate interviews? And 751 interview after n400 interview? I chat online with a representative and they said its gonna be like that? I wanted to talk to tier 2 but dont know how to press what number to talk to tier 2, there is no option to talk to a representative?

this is possible as I read a post earlier that someone got n400 interview done but IO told that person that i751 didn't get transferred to local office yet. So he/she will need to come back on a later date for i751 interview only.

For myself, my wife has both files i751/n400 in local office, we thought we will be having a combo interview but it turned out that i751 will be interviewed first and we have not received the n400 interview letter yet.
