It’s been awhile since a question has been posted here but thought I’d ask anyway...my fiancé works for a Canadian company and will be able to work remotely after he moves to the US. Sounds like that is a gray area as to whether it is allowed or not...for those of you who have had a similar situation, were you questioned about it at your interview and how did you handle it? Trying to figure out whether he will need to take a leave from work or not until AOS. Thanks!

It's a grey area and if you ask outside of the Canada forum, the answer will be no, don't work.

Technically the person is working but they're working for a foreign company being paid in foreign cash into a foreign bank account.  (make sure that the person is being taxed as a non-resident however.)

Working illegally is also forgiven, just like overstay, for USC spouses.

But they're also working without permission regardless of who they're working for.

What you do is your choice.  This is part of the reason why many Canadians choose the IR1/CR1 visa.
