F1 visa administrative processing

My interview was on August 20th. My case was undergone administrative processing. I had to defer the semester. 68 days passed and the case under administrative processing. How long does it take?

It is a country issue. They are probably doing a more thorough background check. 

 

By the way, an August 20 interview was already late because classes start roughly around that time. So it would have been hard to start classes and get settled on time even if they gave you the passport back in a week.

 

Even if you get the passport back now, you'd have to wait until a couple of weeks before the next semester starts to get to the US. If you go too early you would not be a full time student.

 

If you want to get an update you can e-mail the consulate and let them know you deferred admission for the Spring semester. I doubt you will get much from them, but you can try.

I am F-1 visa and I had the pink slip 221g, and I get the ds-5535. that was on August 10th was my last update on my cases. 

 

Hope I get it soon my spring seamster started soon in January.

I have the same problem. Waiting since 21st of Sep under AP. got ds-5535. Visa approved and they told I would get it in 3 days but...... 

I emailed them but they dont even read my email. They just suggest me to wait.
