Does anybody know anything about the interview process at the US embassy in Kuwait? There is precious little information about it on the Kuwait Portal, and I am a little scared of what to expect (or more aptly, what my wife should expect). Has anyone heard whether or not they are one of the terribly strict embassies?

My biggest concern is the Domicile issue. I am currently a U.S. government contractor working in Kuwait on a US army base, and I have a Letter of Authorization from the government stating I am supporting the U.S Army. The LOA has an end-of-contract date a few months from now. I also have a valid US driver's license,  multiple US credit cards,  a US bank and savings account all with the same US address (my parents' address) on them. I also have an absentee voting record from last year and a printout page from my local country registry showing I am registered to vote in my home county in Tennessee. I also have a duly-signed letter from my parents inviting my wife and me to live with them when we arrive. I sent a signed affidavit detailing all the evidence and swearing to return to the US with my wife to the NVC, and the NVC accepted this, but it is the CO at the interview I am worried about.

Any information you could provide to set my mind at ease would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

You have what we had and we did fine.  You do not have to prove domicile anyway.  You gave to prove Intent to domicile which really does not have a heavy burden of proof.  Best of luck to you guys!

Note that you are not asked to "prove domicile".  At most, you are asked to provide evidence you have a US domicile or intend to establish one.  Substitute the word "evidence" anytime you think of saying "proof".

Ok thank you for clarifying that.

Based on the information I provided in this thread, if they ask for evidence of a US domicile do you think what I have is sufficient enough?

Your letter is one more item than we had otherwise you are submitting the same things we did.  I just put down my parents address at the time and told them that's where we were going to live temporarily but at the same time told them that our long term plan was to live in another city/state.  Like you, all of our mail was going to that address anyway and at the time that was where we were kind of stuck staying.

By entry, I was onboarded to start work at a company in another state and we had already signed a lease.  My wife updated our home address (the lease we signed) at POE and the green card was mailed to our new address.  We were able to do that because we lived in that complex before and they accepted our deposit etc long distance.

Hope that helps!

Hello,

My fiance is a DOD contractor here in Kuwait too.

We had a problem with the domicile issue 2 months ago but now my fiance decided to resign from his job here.

We are gathering the documents to RE-ESTABLISH DOMICILE, which are his resignation letter, employment contract with company  letterhead, job offer from a company in the US, a letter from his family that we will be staying with them while we look for a house of our own , recent tax transcripts or tax return 1040 with W2, driver's license, any bills addressed to him in his parent's house, state ID, bank statement that indicate when the account was opened and the total amount inside the account ( if you are under NAVY FEDERAL, just ask them for an affidavit of support for the purpose of immigration) and any mutual fund or assets.

Here is a sample letter to prove US domicile:
