Medical appointment at Knightsbridge medical center

My appointment was for 13:50. I arrived at 13:30 and walked straight up to the window where a lovely woman asked me if I had all the documents required. I had them all (passport, interview letter, vaccination documents, medical history, 4x passport photos, ACRO police cert) with me in a clear file. She was very happy about this and also offered me copies of everything which I said I would like. She then gave me the pee cup and a red bag to put it in when I was done. She said they can take no less than half the cup (and it's quite big) so I was glad I had drunk loads of water in the half hour before arrival!! Went into the bathroom and returned with my half cup of pee for them :)

Next I went to wait in the waiting room. Was quite a few people waiting already. At pretty much exactly 13:50 a female doctor came and called me into a room at the back. She said she needed to check I had all my vaccinations done and thought I didn't have my flu shot but I showed her it was on a separate page. She then said I was all clear and again complimented me on my organized file lol. She told me to go back to the waiting room.

Another male doctor called me 5 mins later and I went into the X-ray room with him. He talked to me loads and was laughing because I kept putting the X-ray jacket on wrong and couldn't tie it up properly. He was really friendly told me to breath in for the X-ray etc and then showed me loads of pics on google of this cool thing at the British museum that I should visit before I escape London haha.

Sent me back to the waiting room and about ten mins later I was called in by another doctor. This guy was an American man from Michigan. We talked about me moving to Colorado and he had been to Boulder and loved it so said I'm very lucky. He asked me about my medical history and why I'd been to a therapist. I had bought with me a letter from my therapist explaining I was completely recovered etc so he signed this and said it was all cleared. Asked me if I had ever used drugs / had an alcohol addiction etc etc all to which I answered no. We then signed my passport picture. He measured my height, weight, took a blood sample, and pushed on my stomach a bit. The funniest part was my eye test because we basically discovered that i have really bad eyesight and he was shocked I've never used glasses. I could only read to about the 3rd line of the test 🙈🙈so he told me if I wanna learn to drive that's definitely something I should invest in haha. Then he said I was all finished !

Went back to the waiting room. Waited 5 mins and was called by the receptionist. She gave me back my copies of everything and my passport. Asked for my interview date and said all my docs would be sent to the embassy within 5 business days :)

I finished at pretty much exactly 14:30 so took an hour but felt very quick and efficient.
Everyone was very friendly and professional. Made several jokes with the doctors and they seemed happy to chat with me during all the procedures.

10/10 Other than the £300 I had to hand over at the end :P

Did they check your body for tattoos, scars or anything i have a scar in my left leg and I am afraid it’s going to cause problems

They asked me if I had ever cut myself or have any self inflicted wounds and I replied no. I don't know if they would check if someone replied yes - I assume they would want to see. This question comes up a lot on the questionaires as well and I always put no as that's my truth. I imagine if you change your answers or try to hide anything it's more suspicious. People on this site told me coming forward about my past in therapy would harm my chances but the doctor was actually very thankful I had a letter to explain and said he would clear it straight away as zero problem. If something happened to you in the past it's always good to have some professional evidence to show it's no longer an issue now.

Im assuming this is what you are referring to because if you just have a regular scar I don't know why you might think that would be a problem ?

What kind of medical history did you take?  My wife is from the UK and planning on requesting her medical records and vaccination records but didn't know if that would be enough. Thanks!

Wow that's so horrible!! I'm sorry to hear you had to go trough such a terrible experience. I know you are required to bring your police certificate and any court documents. You should bring those about this case to show your truth if they ask about your scarring. Best wishes to you!

I took my history from birth - now which is required. If you have over ten pages you must notify them before the appointment so they can make extra time to check them. I'm lucky never been hospitalized etc so I only had a few pages. Mostly vaccinations which I got for this medical haha. Tell her to go to her GP and have her entire medical record printed they will do it for free.

Another curiosity. Hep B isn't required in the UK (well wasn't until now). Did you already have it/did they just let you get the first round and go from there.  We are worried they will make us wait 6 months until all rounds of the vaccine are done. Thanks!

In that case i think i must have already had it. The way they check of the medical requirements is quite confusing but I have a box checked at the bottom of my form which says ALL COMPLETE

theres another box for no time to complete / must be completed at later date. And another one that is for requirements.

Try to call the medical office and directly ask them about certain requirements - you don't want to turn up without anything that you need.
