The only time I flew into Denver was waiting th Frontier and I said never again.

We had a great experience in Denver, even with the flight delay to get us back to Tucson.  I thought the immigration section for POE was very well run.

Now that we moved east I try to use Atlanta, but sometimes we are stuck with DTW

The airport looked nice it just was that Frontier sucks. I flew in a plane from Denver to Raleigh that the seats did not recline AT ALL, but I saved $50 stupid dollars.

Ah yes ... Frontier airlines.     Bet you never try to save $50 "the hard way" again.     We fly the Delta commuter airlines from Atlanta to Knoxville, then a rental car to home.

Yeah I do that as well to either Raleigh or Charlotte then a rental car to my parents house in Greensboro. Raleigh is a nice small airport and a 1 hour drive away, while Charlotte is bigger about 1 1/2 hours away.

I will never do that again I promise you that.

My advice... Go to Brookstone or similar and buy a baggage scale to take with you.. We have a little hand held one with a hook that you dangle the suitcase from to see how heavy it is.  She is moving from Phlippines to USA and there are weight limits on the luggage total and weight limits on each bag.  Make sure you know those limits and that you are under them to avoid paying large extra/over weight fees at the airport or having to pack and unpack bags at the check-in counter.  The investment will pay for itself for years to come :-).   Ask her about her luggage and see if she might want you to bring a nice new suitcase with you.  You can get cheap suitcases in asia but they can turn out to be single or perhaps double use so better she have something 'nice' even if that means something from Wal-mart.      We did find a very nice brand of suitcase from the Phlippines in SM that came with a lifetime warrantee that has served us well so that is an option as well.

Have her dress in layers for the plane and airports.

Make sure she has her CFO sticker in her passport she isn't leaving without it.

-

As others have said the sealed envelope remains sealed and is in your check in baggage.

-

Put a travel alert on your credit card / bank card if available to make sure if you need to use it in the Philippines you can do so.

-

If you haven't done so on previous trips go to your local Wal-mart and buy a bunch of USA T-shirts in various sizes to give away in the Philippines.   Maybe not as big a deal for your fiancees family but definitely something my Asawa's family appreciates

I could go on but I think that's the important stuff.    Have a good flight and congrats and God bless to both of you.

Cebu Pacific at Mactan airport in Cebu used to be notorious for double or triple checking your carry on luggage when checking on domestic flights.  I think CebuPac half their revenue comes from charging extra baggage.

My relative one time dragged a gate agent all the way to the plane who was trying to re weigh his carry on bag,  He dragged him all the way to the plane and the pilot finally told the employee to leave him alone and let him board the plane.

Just when you think you have TDS eradicate,  a new case shows up.
