My fiance and I had our interview in Dominican Republic on October 5, 2017.  At the time we were told everything was in order but they requested an extended and legalized birth certificate for his 2 children.  My fiance dropped of the documents on October 13, 2017. Today he received an email from the Embassy in Dominican Republic stating the following

We need you to come to window #13 with your legal identification.  You may visit us Tuesday-Thursday (7am-10am) to pick up your passport and a letter with instructions to continue your case.

I am ready to lose my mind! It does not indicate if his Visa is approved and passport is stamped, or if his Visa has been denied and that is why they are returning his passport. I'm beyond frustrated and in tears at this point.  Has anyone been through this that can enlighten me as to what I should expect?:(

Could be anything. Best thing to do now is to not drive yourself crazy worrying over it. Wait until he gets the instructions. It could be something as simple as another document.

Have you check the case status online?

We received the same letter. Visa was denied because the police certificate was not translated into English.

Did you have it translated and resubmit? I looked at your timelime.  Seems our interview was on the same day. Where are you in the process now? This is so frustrating!
