I spoke to a Representative at the USCIS this morning since no status update on my claim and they received my petition on 05/24/17. I was told they are working on cases from 04/01/17, which I also saw that online somewhere as well. The gentleman told me that my processing is about a month away and that they are still within the normal processing time. I believe I have been patient my fiancé as well but should I get concerned if by December 1 I don't here anything? The Rep just reiterated about a month. I need to put my vacation time in at work and I have ALOT but planned on going to the interview. Now I'm getting anxiety that I either can't go or will loose my time since you can't transfer over 40hrs and have over 100+. A friend said just put time in anytime and change later(easier said than done)but I don't know. Do you think by December we will here something? I did front load. Any suggestions?

I am sorry to hear about your situation. True enough, USCIS are still processing April 2017 petition. Getting an approval from USCIS really takes time and their timeline now minimum is 180 days maximum 200 days not including RFE. It really tests your patience. Just hang in there mate. I assume December is sufficient enough for you to get a feedback from them.

Sending tons of pictures doesn't guarantee you with everything. But yes, i will keep you and your fiance in my prayers.

So I've heard. But, I just wanted whomever is looking/reviewing the application to see that I've visited his entry family and see that we travelled together. Not sure if they will review all that but I'm just very thoroughly. Plus, so many people say to front load(gotten approved) so I just wanted to do as much as I could to try not to have issues and they see that our relationship is "bonafide" in every way. Which is the lease of my concern to be honest since I know it is. My concern is the Timeline. I will keep my fingers cross for December or sooner. Thanks again.

LOL. For future applicants, please do not do this (i.e. "load"). The better strategy is to use multiple, corroborating evidence. Suppose you wish to demonstrate to USCIS that you so love your fiance/spouse that you visited him/her in Lagos between Jan 1-5, 2017. You can send 200 pictures in various states of undress. Or you can send:

  • An email dated Nov 25, 2016 in which you and your spouse discussed how you're missing each other so much, and how the fever won't break until you meet again on Jan 1; AND
  • Boarding passes that show you actually took a flight from Dallas TX on Dec 31, 2016, arriving Lagos, Nigeria, and departing from Lagos back to Dallas on Jan 5; AND
  • Movie tickets for 2 adults to see a rerun of Titanic at Silverbird Theater in Victoria Island on Jan 3; AND
  • 3 annotated pictures from that visit: one in front of the Murtala Mohammed Airport sign; one in front of Silverbird; one with his/her family.

The second option is WAY more convincing than 200 pictures, however sexually explicit.

Kudo's to afrocraft (Love that idea).

OlmMe front loading isn't about alot of evidence. It's really about putting your evidence upfront instead of relying at interview they will bother to look at.
it's about putting quality not quantity upfront. Your evidence should tell a story like afrocraft so eloquently stated. The adjudicator at USCIS really doesn't give a whole lot of hoot what you send in They will approve with just a marriage certificate However the CO at embassy is another matter. They should be able to flip through your evidence page by page and see and feel what is being said without a word.
i have seen people send in 200, 300 pictures of nonsense. people looking like they rather be anywhere but in that picture. Unflattering or worst the kiss of the staged pictures. Too many selfies and staged shots.

I would put in for the vacation. Why can't you get a visit in before interview if you can't be there. It';s about time together not about you standing outside under the canopy or as I did the tree for hours. They aren't impressed.

Your approval could be day tomorrow next year so book that trip and go see your man.

Im on this site for encouragement and sound advice. I figured if you've been through something and can give advice that's helpful not sarcasim and criticism I appreciate it.

Never said to know everything or else I wouldn't be on this forum. My career is in Claims so I understand that just because you have a lot of documents doesn't mean you will be approve. Since that's my job as well so it's makes this process even more nerve racking for me. Since I've denied people with 100 pages and approved some with just 1.

I sent in hotel receipts, restaurant receipts, our travel tickets since we travelled, text messages, call log, snap shot video messages, pics, a letter of how we met, etc.

Maybe I didn't word it right. I reviewed, researched VJ, other sites, spoke to two immigration lawyers, and people who been through the process. I followed the guide on VJ to send my application then I front loaded as suggested. I would hate to be denied for something I didn't do right or missed.

I tried to make sure to send only pertinent information and pictures BUT like I said it was a lot.

I just want us be approved bottom line.

For moral support I want to be there. So that's why I was trying to save my time at work. I can afford to visit and I will but I was trying to be patient. Last visit was in May-June.

To be laughed at is not what I need or expected just because others are approved they seem to forget there journey.

Arrogance leads to ignorance but I still like the honesty on this site and I will update my status once I have the good news.

Take care everyone!

Hey. Please don't take offence; none was intended. I wasn't laughing at you; I (and I believe dwheels76) only mean to provide some concrete advice to future applicants on what a front-loaded, quality application looks like.

If you felt slighted by the comment, I apologize.

As it is being said already I really do not think it will go up to December with the numbers we have now. Just try to hold on a little bit before you make the decision. Mostly your number will be around next week. But even the worst case - unless there is an unusual happening cause they happen sometimes rarely too- will not go more than the end of November.

hope this helps
