Work authorization with marriage based adjustment of GC filing

I don't really understand the question.

Are you saying you have applied for your AOS and EAD (work authorization) and have NOA's for both but not the actual EAD (work authorization?)

If so no. You will have to wait for your EAD to arrive before starting work.

Any employer will ask you to complete an I-9 form upon taking up employment with them and this is where you fill in that you have an EAD and they will most likely ask for a copy.

I HAVE NOT  applied for EAD . I applied for i 751 (adjustment of GC status) and got my i 797 NOA , which say my GC is extended for another year and i am authorized to work.

my question is is i 797 only sufficient for work authorization?

Okay I understand, you've filed for ROC and received the 1-year extension letter.

Yes, the I-797 is sufficient and, you should now have a SSN card which has been updated so it no longer reads (only valid for work with DHS bla bla bla).

Those two combined will be sufficient.
