Hey we got approved about a week ago and i was wondering if I could fill out the DS-160 and sumbit it already or do I have to wait until a certain time to do it? This is for the HCM Vietnam consulate. I know the website says don't schedule an interview until she receives the packet 3, but anyone with experience know if we can just submit the DS-160 now and then schedule the interview as soon as I call and get the case number from NVC. Trying to get an appointment date ASAP so prices don't go up soon. Thanks

The foreign beneficiary can complete and submit the DS-160 at anytime, including now. Visa fee can also be paid now and the payment is valid for a year. Not sure about how soon an appointment can be scheduled in VN though.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

Fee changes are pretty rare.  Its happened once at the USCIS and once at the NVC in the last 5 years.

You can do the DS160 anytime. Set up an account at USTRAVELDOCS.COM. it will give you instructions on how to pay your visa fee. Once that is done you can set up an appointment and do your medical. We were able to get everything done within a week and a half

Select immigrant visa.  They will change it when the visa is actually issued.

@K&N2609 This is the document that the US Consulate in Saigon will be sending your fiancee. You can review it while waiting for the actual Packet 3 (which is just a letter with a link to this PDF document).
