Security check pending affects job applications?

My case is still pending due to security check remains pending. I am wondering if that will affect in applying jobs especially when employers perform background checks showing my status under security check?  

I currently have a I-551 valid till mid May2018 while waiting for 10 year GC. 

I'm trying to get a job at USPS.

It shouldn't affect your job search. If anything at all shows up, it'll just show that you are a conditional permanent resident whose I-751 is pending. Don't worry.

I wonder why this security check pending happened, is it because the immigrant's country of origin did not response when USCIS requested for background check?

If you are applying for a job that requires some level of security clearance, then probably yes. Otherwise, no.

Lemon23; Security checks pending may happen those who went overseas while applying for GC. I have gone to Japan recently. That may have even delayed my case more.

charmander; Do you know USPS performs high level security checks?? I hope not.

 

I was very upset today. Potential employer couldn't accept my application as I don't have "a Green Card"!!!!

I explained I have I 551(temporary permanent resident) while I wait for a green card.  Some employers don't seem to understand the process of visa or I 551 pending Green Card should be as good as having a Green Card.  If this is the case, I may not be hired until I get my Green Card. God knows when

that is going to happen!!!!  I called USCIS today ans told the agent potemtial employer couldn't accept my application.

He said it is up to employers discresion. I am mad

All you need to show them is your driver's license and unrestricted SSN. If they won't accept those then they're breaking the law.

It is illegal to discriminate against you. You can very easily win a lawsuit if that is truly the case. I don't think the employer is that stupid though. Try to prove that you were solely denied employment based on your immigration status.

If you don't want to take them to court, kindly ask them to verify your employment eligibility using the SAVE system.

Thank you. Someone else gave be very useful tip to prove that employers can not specify the proof

of my work visa.  So if same case happen in the future, I will bring I-9's statement.

Where did you get this information? I will travel to my home country next year and not even sure if they will approved my ROC before I travel back, I will stay in my home country for 15 days. how many days you stayed in Japan?

Lemon23; It is my guess that those who left this country, may go under security checks to make sure

I didn't do anything wrong outside the country. My mother-in-law thinks the same. FBI is watching and they are doing the process very very slowly almost pxxsing me off. I went to Japan last year for 40 days and July this year for 3 1/2 weeks.
