All true.

THis discussion started with the statement "Last I heard Great Britain was a foreign country"

It was a minor point (I actually put it just in brackets in my response), but Great Britain is not a foreign country. The United Kingdom is. Great Britain is part of the UK. Great Britain isn't a country on its own. It's an island.

This really isn't a big deal. I had originally just offered up the correction. We can move on now.

EDIT:

In your reply to Mango, you also included additional errors:

"...was a former spy of England, also commonly referred to as the United Kingdom, also geographically located on the island of Great Britain "

Now the second may not be an error, it may just be unclear sentence structure. England is NOT commonly referred to as the UK. They are not equivalent.

The UK is NOT geographically located on the island of GB. It geographically INCLUDES GB, as well as part of Ireland. However I admit you may have meant that England is geographically located on the island of Great Britain. It wasn't clear if the subject had changed to UK or if it remained England.

England is certainly referred to as being Great Britain all the time, because it is part of Great Britain.  It is part of a whole, so when speaking in general terms, you can correctly refer to it as either the part or the whole.  Just like California is referred to as America, completely interchangeable in common every day low-brow speech.  We aren't sitting in a Geography 201 class.  There are certainly situations where distinctions would need to be made, but this isn't one of them.  For instance, let's say I was crafting a law to sanction England.  If I wrote sanctions for the United Kingdom, I would be wrong.  If I wrote sanctions that included the countries located on the island of Great Britain, I would be wrong.  If I wrote sanctions for the British Isles, I would be wrong.

I did not say the UK is geographically located on the island of Great Britain.  I apologize if my sentence structure wasn't clear to you.  The meaning of the sentence was clear to me, albeit after several adult beverages.  I didn't realize people were expecting dissertation level posts here.

I must have missed the part about Steele's attempt to get the Russians involved in our presidential election.

Opposition research is standard operating procedure.  It would be malfeasance not to do it.  According to a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, many of the Steele's allegations have been verified, and none have, as yet, been disproven.

The man-child is getting desperate to divert our attention away from his inevitable crucifixion by Mueller.

You really must have missed it.  The DNC and Hillary's campaign paid a British spy, through a proxy (attorney), to obtain Russian intelligence - this is a crime.  They then covered it up to avoid having it appear on their FEC campaign finance disclosure forms - this is also a crime.

The hysterical right-wingers understandably are getting desperate.  They will assert anything and everything in order to distract from Trump's conspiracy.

Payments made by vendors to sub-vendors are not required to be disclosed under these circumstances.  The FEC complaint fails to even note the FEC's affirmation in 2013 of the relevant rule, notes no authority to the contrary, and is baseless.

We need to tell Paul Revere the English were coming, not the British.

I doubt all of the soldiers were English. I'm sure there were some Welsch, Scottish and maybe in Irish in the mix.

Oop! Sorry, added a c on accident. I'd like to claim it was my phone but that was all me

Germans also, though Germans hired by the British. "British" was actually an even more accurate term at that time than it is now, since it was the Kingdom of Great Britain during the revolution. Ireland wasn't included.
