Back in the summer, it took me a month to get a number from NVC (NOA2 May 19th, got my # on June 20th).  Unfortunately, some petitions just take longer to be processed.  At the time, every time I called they said "not received", until one agent told my husband to use option 5 (instead of option 7 I think is what is regularly used) because we were an electronic case.  Once we called that line (on June 20th), they told us they had actually received our petition on June 6 and we didn't have a number yet.  We called again that night and got our number.

I am not sure if this is still happening to some people since it was awhile ago, but there is no harm in trying option 5 and seeing if you are in that system??

We did a K-1 so I doubt that it is electronic... But I don't know, might as well give it a shot

I also had a k1. There were a handful of other Canadians at the same time with the same problem and one from Germany.  I am not sure if there were any other embassies being trialled. Since I don't follow all the other progress report threads as thoroughly anymore I am not sure if They continued to randomly pick some k1s to be processed this way or not.

Let me know if they have it, if they have yours then they probably have mine too

You can subscribe to Marion Timeline or mine. We have the same approval date. What option do you guys use when you call NVC? I use 1-7-5 and expecting a 'not received" every time. One time, one of the agent said 'unbelievable" meaning I call within the second week lol

I will keep calling!!!

If NVC still hasn't received your petition 35 days after your NOA1 (5 weeks), it's safe to assume CSC screwed up and you're in for some difficulties. Odds are also that there will be a number of other people like you in that situation. I speak from experience (took several months for my petition to get from CSC to NVC, long story).

That being said, there are many people who had to wait 3-4 weeks before their file got to NVC. Many more than the # who went through an experience like mine. I would recommend contacting NVC only 1-2 times a week. Otherwise you could drive yourself crazy.  Good luck!

My paperwork was sent first week of September 2017 it took till September 25th for them to update as received.  They said that the website is not updated very often and it is best to call them any time you want to true update.   Once received, there is an 11 week guarantee to process providing they don't need any additional information.   Have you submitted all paperwork, financials, fees?   If not, then the 11 weeks could take you into another 11 weeks once the remaining paperwork is received.   We submitted EVERYTHING all up front and it's going into the 5th week.   We are praying we hear something during the month of November.

Hello everyone, I have received my NOA2 on 10/10/17. I have just called the NVC and they told me that they haven't received my case yet, however I look at literally everyone's timelines and their cases have all been through the NVC and at the consulate 2 1/2 weeks after NOA2. Is this normal? We really want to get married before Christmas but it's looking a little impossible now I guess? :/ It will be going to the US Consulate in Amsterdam.

That sucks!  And I am truly sorry to hear it.  We got our NVC letter like 3 weeks (as it says in the NOA2 letter,  2 to 4 weeks to get to NVC, and then "several Weeks" to get to the embassy.      Hoping everything goes well for you!  I KNOW how aggravating it can be at times.  You just want to be with the one you love.

I would have to agree with you.  It would be nothing less of an early Christmas Miracle if your K-1 was approved in time.  Plan on several months.  Take a deep breath and relax.  Good luck and God Bless.

During the summer, we had gotten our NOA2 and we didn’t have a case number assigned right away. At the end of both the first and second weeks, I called NVC and both times they said they didn’t have anything of ours yet. Turns out, everything had already been sent to the embassy and I got the emails from them at the beginning of the third week, if memory serves. There were several of us February filers that had happened to. Maybe it’s still going on?

I filed K-1 too and got approved on 10/11/17. I called 603-33-0888 last night and they said they still had not received my case yet. Is it the right number to call because I chose option 1 and talked to a representative and that was it? Should it be another number? Because I saw here some members said about 1-7-5 option. I am frustrated because I waited for 170 days to get NOA2 and now it seems it does not go any where. Some of the members here in the forum received their NVC case numbers after 8 business days. I am in the same boat like most of you here. I do not know if I should call every day or not.

I have to agree as well.   Each embassy is different but we had to mail a readiness letter after ds160 and wait for an interview date to be assigned.   So with all this interview  is Nov 6

Do you have the tracking number from NVC?  You will get the tracking number before the files are physically delivered to the embassy.  If you have the number you can schedule the interview.  There is generally some time (30 to 60 days) for the first available slot.  You can get the interview scheduled and the medical taken care of so you aren't just sitting and waiting.

No they tell me that they don't have my case yet

The Consulate in Amsterdam sometimes schedules appointments sometimes within three weeks. As soon as they receive the case, they send her a letter telling her to go online and schedule everything
