I completely disagree no-one should wait one complete year before contacting the embassy.   In addition the 221g states "we recommend you contact the embassy every two months to check on your status of your case".   There are times after inquiry members have found the embassy was waiting on information that they didn't know about and wasted 6 months in AP before sending the docs because the embassy neglected to notify them (or communication got lost) no communication in one year can lead to a returned petition as it also states if they don't get a response it will be returned.   Consistent clear communication is key!

Hey paki guy,

  hope you are well. Please guide, my wife had a visa interview in aug 2017, cr1, 221g given, in AP since that time. Multiple senator's inquiries, still same response. Want passport back, will it affect any further delay and yours opinion when they will finish this process. Thanks in advance

They kept it, it's really frustrating and depressing. Want passport back, at least we can move on.

Oh My God Man. Really i am in so tention after hearing your case. Its my 1 year of administrative.and they kept my passposrt too.

For what reason they issued your wife 221g ? Asking for docs? Or tick mark on administrative processing?

No it will not impact on your case. But if you doesnot want to go anywhere. I would highly suggest you to not issue your passport

They did not ask any docs, just AP.

In mine case they issued 221g for joint sponsor and 2 by 2 photos

I have no idea what to say or to do. Just want this process to be finished.  Again, want passport back. If anyone can guide will it impact further delays.
