correct me if i am wrong, REFUSED status is same as Administrative Processing and part of overall visa processing lifecycle? can anyone confirm / correct understanding? has anybody also face REFUSED before issue?

When Embassy request documents status can change to refused until they receive and update.  So its a temporary refusal until they have all required documents in order.   Refused could also mean refusal of issuing visa  if it changes to this status then to Return to NVC than it is a returned petition.

So if Embassy request documents and your status changes to refused don't panic its just temporary :)

but how could i know that status is only changed to REFUSED for collecting more documents and not for Return to NVC, how can i distinguish for which purpose REFUSED is assigned in given case? how consulate staff intimate, through courier or email, or call? have you been through this?

Typically during the interview you would have been given a slip listing requested documents status changes from ready to refused until documents are sent in.

After an interview if you have not been contacted by the embassy and status changes to refused I would go on the web site and send  an inquiry regarding your case.  It could be you were just not contacted yet in regards to what is needed (and unfortunately I'm not sure how they do contact you after the interview) but I would most definitely get in touch with to find out.

Thankx for reply

1)they had interview at isb embassy in Dec 2015

2)co didn't request for additional doc few day after status

Thanks for reply

1)interview was at isb embassby in Dec 2015

2) co didn't request for any additional doc & didn't say approved or refused

3) gave 221g and status was AP

4)didnt any waiver.but this year embassy requested new medical & latest AOS and than status change from AP to Refuesed in Feb 2018

5) after submitted requested docs in april embassy request for IRS Tax transcripts.

6)12/7 this IRS submitted.

7)since yesterday status changed from refused to ready.

Embassy didn't request for new oat,finger prints,interview etc.just status.

After interview, you have been submitting all these through courier or CEAC? I have been asked for IRS only after interview to submit again on CEAC, but NVC says once the case is at embassy it’s done from NVC & CEAC.

I always upload requested docs and send the hard copy via courier too.
