Salam

I had interview n July 30th, 2020... after the interview, the interviewer told me that all documents from my side is ok and that there's a delay on paperwork from Embassy side.... additionally I had already uploaded all necessary documents on CEAC before the interview... I got 221g and they took my passport... does that mean they intend to issue me a passport or something else? US Embassy does not issue passports to visa applicants.  Please share ur experiance

It looks like they were not happy with your financial sponsorship.

Dont worry they will either issue the visa soon . Or maybe they will do back ground checks . If they will need anything they will contact you . You can send an inquiry and ask them that after interview officer said everything is ok from your side so kindly advise me what is the delay on my case . I hope they will awnser you .

That is highlighted on all 221gs from Islamabad they would actually check off and write if more information was needed.

This just means they they feel they need more time to decide on whether you are eligible for the visa.  It can take weeks or years nobody really knows.  Keep an eye on your email and check in with the embassy every few months for updates.

Looks like it's just some standard highlight for that particular consulate. Since nothing was checked, I doubt they need to provide extra docs unless otherwise asked.

Ahmed actually had 3.   We were never asked to update the ds260 but we were asked to get a new medical.  The ds 260 we updated on our own when it reopened.   We also were never asked to bring it but I'm glad he did anyway at the last appointment because they tried to say it was not updated and he would have to update it but after showing the copy they realized we had in fact updated it.

They should have asked you to update the medical and come to the embassy in the same email.   You'll want to make sure you don't get the medical without confirmation from the embassy of an appointment otherwise it could be a waste.

Aziz will not complete the medical appointment until they speak to the embassy directly I do not know about the other Medical centers.

You mean that if they would want me to come for second interview they would have mentioned today's email. So in my case they only ask for medical and ds260 update means they probably will issue the visa after submission of medical and updated ds260 RIGHT?

I would update the ds260 and follow up regarding the medical.

I have seen many get emails from the embassy that only mention they will be requiring a new medical (because the original expired) but states they will contact at a later date.  Be sure they are actually requesting the medical and not telling you that you will need one in the future.

Hello @Ahmed&Freda & Everyone,

Hope you are doing well and everything is fine at your side. I need an expert opinion that, how long it takes when USCIS reaffirmed cases at their side and returned to NVC. Do they (USCIS) directly send case to original consular post (in our case Islamabad) or is it routed through NVC and then Islamabad.

Please you, or anyone that have first hand knowledge, about this process can comment, much appreciated.

Best,
