They kept the passports and its been two months plus

My sister she had her interview on 23rd Aug she got 221g white slip with nothing checked and she was told to submit tax transcripts and W2 on CEAC website which we did the same day. After 4 days we also submitted the hard copies through AEG travel services. Sent an email to embassy but no replay but case updated after 5 working days. Status is still "Refused" on CEAC website. Not sure how long will it take for them to review the documents and change the status to "Issued" i will send another email in next two weeks to see how things are going.

Why our status is refused instead of Administrative processing? Same happened to me interview was on 26 july, they are not even replying to mails

This is exactly what happened with me and my interview was also on 23rd august

"Refused" means decision yet to be made. I read on other forums that it changed to Administrative processing after the interview.

Well if they never Checked marked Administrative processing on 221G white paper then even after emailing them i dont think they will change it to administrative processing unless untill they told you that case requires AP.

HI,

 

my wife had an interview last week, the 221g box wasn't checked just the 846 for joint sponsor, and tax for joint sponsor. because originally my father was a household member so now he is a joint sponsor and than my brother is added as a household member. and than they said to upload everything on CEAC. 

 

I uploaded everything and also sent the documents on the embassy website. yesterday it said case updated oct-2 but still says refused. 

 

what happens now?

All i can say is just wait because there are a lot of cases that needs to be reviewed. You will generally have to wait 4 weeks after uploading docs and they need time to review them.

My case has been in AP since Feb 2018. Ready to file Lawsuit (Mandamus). Just hired a lawyer.
