Does anyone have any ideas for proof of meeting during the 2 years prior to filing the papers? i sent in photos with dates and wrote that we met because we lived in the same area. but i still got a RFE. im running out of ideas. the only thing i can send in is letters from people saying they were there when we were together, along with more dated pictures.

I dont have anything like a hotel recpit, or plane tickets. i also stated that he lived in the same city, which i dont understand why they would assum that we would have things like that. I stressing so much about this!

Which country was this same city in? Since one of you wouldn't be a citizen of that country, you should have a stamped passport to prove presence in the country. That's the kind of primary evidence they want. How did one of you get there? In Albania or the US - someone had to take a plane right? How about a copy receipt for the ticket even if you don't have the boarding pass any more.

I'm sure if you really think about it, you have some of what they want. Photos? Anything? What did you send in the first time? Photos aren't enough alone - as they are secondary evidence - but they can help.

Check the RFE thread that's pinned at the top of the form as well.

side note - not to contradict - but you'll need more than phone bills or emails - which don't prove meeting, just contact. again, one of you MUST have a passport stamp and a plane record either into the US or into Albania (or Europe somewhere) that could help build the record.

Read the RFE thread!

That would work. I doubt he will get another tourist visa since he overstayed. Over staying is a big no-no if there is not a good reason for it. You could of married him while he was here providing it was a "spur of the moment decision" then he would not have had to leave.

How long was his overstay?

And yes, if that's the primary evidence you have - his proof of exist from the country - then you must use it.

It won't negatively effect your K1 process (unless he overstayed more than, I believe, 180 days, in which case he may need a waiver later, but if it was a minor overstay, you're fine).

I agree, I would say you could send your stamp (visa if any) on your passport when you saw him in December, and more pictures taken there. Good luck to you...!!!

im in same situation..u should be fine, of course depends how long he overstayed, if he overstayed more than 180 days he might need a waiver. send a copy after his visa and the passport stamp from in the country, i did same, i dont have a passport stamp when i left. and if u could u can send an envelope with his name on it from that city, and u can put one too with your name on it to prove u lived in same place. somebody told me it would be a good ideea. Good luck

If he lived for a while in Michigan he must have done some purchases: ask him if he kept any of the recipts. Sometimes grocery recipts paid with credit card have the name of the person and the location where the supermarket is.

If he rented a place he might have a renting contract. If he stays at someone's place then ask them to do a letter saying that he stayed with them.

Contact the company he flew with to the US and get a document saying that he flew at this date with this destination. He should have an e-ticket or something at least, adding it to the Passeport's stamp it shows when he came.

Stating things is not enough for the USCIS they need tangible proof.

Maybe you could ask him to see whith his bank if he could get a copy of what he paid for. He might have a bill sent to him by his bank with the list of hhis purchases and sometimes it states where the purchases were done.

Good luck.

Send in EVERYTHING you can, particularly if you have any 'red flags' in your case such as age, religious, cultural, or language differences, etc. That Embassy in Albania has put my fiance and I through hell.....and there is nothing your Senator or NVC or DOS will do for you if they decide to revoke your petition.

You need to find some plane ticket receipts if you flew ANYWHERE to see him, e-mails, chat log if you use any MSN or Yahoo Chat programs to communicate, phone bills, video, if you charged anything on a credit card while traveling, copy and attach that. ANYTHING!!!

Looks like Albania is going to be the next 'high fraud' post so they are on the lookout for any type of fraud because the economy is so bad over there.....and government corruption is the norm so everyone is suspect. Gone are the days when you could say you want to marry someone and they can just go get their visa. Be ready for an inquisition.

I'm telling you.....if there is anything they can find to use to deny you, they will so put it all out there RIGHT now or you could be sent into the 221g abyss and you don't want that. We'll be there for the next 6-12 months.

Good luck and if you can afford it, you might go an hire an experienced immigration attorney NOW. Heavy emphasis on 'experienced'-->with gathering the appropriate evidence to avoid recommendation for revocation finding.

Definitly send in the passport stamps for both of you. In additon to that and pics, we send in my SO's student visa paperwork, proof of where he lived and where I lived on campus and a little map to show how close they were :) I also sent in envelopes addressed to me at his residence when I lived with him this summer, e-mails to my mom from when I was abroad, pay slips to me delivered to his residence, payment of my wages into his account, tickets to a sporting event we attended together and time stamp dated photos. Good luck and be creative! What does he have to show for his obviously long period of time in the US? Bank stuff, rental agreements, church membership anything? Think of all the things you two did together and think of any paper trail that could have.

As an asside, I wonder how many "normal" couples could prove their relationship to USCIS? Hmmmmm :)
