Your application can go to 6 different places. Check this timeline here.

Oh.. okey. From what I understood all applications (Family based) go to NBC and the travel document and employment authorization goes to a different office as well and the field office does the interview

If you check each center, they have process specific category. So it doesn't necessarily mean it goes to all 6.

Well maybe i'm wrong :) it was my assumption

it does! haha. but its worth it.  I reviewed my application several times and still found errors until its error frees and sent it!

I started in Sept, with very little understanding of the whole porcess.

It seems simple but have to read instructions to make sure we got things right.

I saw some people who had their priority dates on the day their application was received by USCIS

I did the same!

Read them again and again and actually found a mistake last night and corrected it before mailing everything today. Hope I haven't missed anything. Not that it's a huge deal but them sending it to me and me sending it back would just delay the process unnecessarily.

05/24/2017 Entered the US on a J1 visa

shakeyy is right that if you concurrently file I-130 and I-485 at the chicago lockbox, the case receipts will always start MSC and will be processed by MSC/NBC initially. The other service centers only apply when AOS is filed separately. As I understand it, your receipt number stays the same regardless of where your documents end up. There is nothing to worry about..

Sorry my bad English. What I was trying to say is that your case can be assigned for one of those 6 listed, and no that would go to all of them.

The first 3 letter before the number of your receipt date shows to what center your case was sent.

I was reading other posts, so many people were signed to Texas, Nebraska,Potomac, California and Vermont. NBC is not usual for I130 filers, but sometimes they do. For what I have been reading, Potomac is the fastest one.
