I filed a concurrent application I-130 & I-485 for my wife in October, 2017. I didn't apply for her EAD  assuming that the greencard would take less than 6 months. Now, she needs EAD, for it's obvious that she won't get the greencard soon. USCIS says it will take less than 90 days to process EAD. But, I see a lot of you still waiting for EAD after 200 days. What's happening? Does it now require longer time to process?

Hello FYI and sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the 90 days for EAD no longer applies,  they changed the law and yes it takes longer to process work permits.

Now you have to wait and wait and wait; it takes 4 to 6 months for most people now to get the EAD/AP so send the application asap.

Hi, I'm the one who posted this above:

I've gotten the interview notice on July 15, and had the interview on Aug 16. The interview took only 15-20 minutes and went well I thought. It might be due to our daughter who is almost one year old.

My wife applied for EAD in June, but I guess she might not need it after all.

As a matter of fact, we had filed concurrently in 2015, and missed the January 16, 2016 interview notice. Refiled concurrently in October, 2017.

Now, we expect to have a regular (not temporary) green card.

Fingers crossed.

Filed my i485 with i130, i131, i765 on Sep 19, 2017.

Received my combo card in mid of Dec 2017.

before receiving card the online status was "scheduling interview" but few months later till now the status is unavailable. I applied in Atlanta GA on marriage base change of status from visitor visa.

why my status is unavailable? USCIS told me over the phone that my process is going normal. I'm just worried about online status. I recently sent me combo card renewal application. I received notice of action that the USCIS has received my application. I don't know about that too when they will renew my card.

My wife finally got her Green card valid until 2028 (not temporary, but regular one).

Our application history is long.

Married in July 2015.

May 2016 First concurrent filing  - reception notice received soon then finger printing done

Some errors in the application found. Received a notice to resubmit part of the application

Aug 2016 The complete (revised) application received by the Chicago office

Dec 2016 The interview notice was received by either me or my wife but it was sleeping somewhere in the house, completely forgotten (Due to my wife's unexpected pregnancy)

Jan 16, 2017 Interview date - Of course we didn't make it, and a couple of week later, we got the notice that we missed the interview

May 2017 After a few tries to appeal to USCIS, we got the final notice that our application was denied.

Oct 17, 2017 Second application received by USCIS, finger printing done again.

We didn't apply for AP or EAD, expecting to receive another interview soon, and get the green card in no time.

How laid back we were! How ignorant we were!

Feb 2018  My wife decided to visit her family in Korea, so applied for AP, Got it in 60 days.

Jun 2018 After coming back from Korea, she applied for EAD since she could not work any longer on F-1 visa (she is a doctoral student)

July 11, 2018 Got a smartphone notice that the interview date notice will arrive soon.

July 15, 2018 Interview notice arrived

Aug 16, 2018 Interview Done in 15 minutes

Aug 23, 2018 Green card received.

Since we have been married longer than 3 years with a child of age 1, my wife received a regular green card.

We applied twice due to careless mistakes, but the ending is pretty happy.

Good luck, guys!

Interesting! I wonder why. But probably is nothing, since your wife already got her green card.
