For those that asked for the SSN card in the employment form, how long after you received your EAD you got your SSN card? Just wondering.

Mine never arrived even though I requested USCIS to forward my info to SSN and they send me the card. I had to go to SSN office to get it.

Yeah, I believe that with time they can improve that. It's a new service.

Today I went to the SSN office just to check if I already had a number. My husband was very impatient because he needs to file the tax returns. Anyway, luckily I already had a number. The lady that talked to us was very nice.

Hey,

Did you also receive AP? My case status for EAD says "Card being produced" but nothing on AP. I applied for both. I also received the courtesy letter fir i-693.

Also, any news on when to expect the interview?

I did not apply for the AP. But I believe you are going to receive the combo.

My local office timeline says 10,5  months for the minimum and 18,5 for the maximum. So in a good prediction, I would not expect nothing until  August.

hey guys, i know this may be a silly question. I just want to make sure i'm understanding the posted processing times correctly.

Question:
So for Orlando office, it says they're processing applications between 7.5 months to 16.5 months

but there is a time range posted below that says Processing time for Family based applications will be between 12.5 months to 22months?

So I'm assuming since i'm family based application, i won't hear anything until after my October file date correct?

When can I renew my EAD if it expires around December?

Read this online:

"To extend an employment authorization card, an application for renewal must be filed around 180 days prior to the expiration date printed on the card. An application for renewal of a work permit must be filed and accepted by the USCIS prior to the expiration of the card that was initially granted to the applicant."

Given how long EADs are currently taking—I myself am on day 170—I would use the 180 day period as the latest you should be applying for a renewal, just to be on the safe side.

If your question is: when's the earliest you can renew? I'd have another look at the I-765 form or the official instructions for filling it out, as I believe that this form is used for renewals as well as first-time applications.

Good News!

After 183 days of waiting, I just found out that my EAD card is being produced! Judging by everyone else's timeline, I'm hoping I should have it in hand by the start of next week.

One thing that I'm slightly unsure of and was wondering if someone could enlighten me on - Can I start working immediately with this card or do I need to wait for SSN? I applied using the updated simultaneous application for EAD and SSN, but I'm not sure if they're the same thing/arrive together, or what exactly that means in terms of starting employment?

I do have work lined up, but don't want to tell them I'm ready to start if indeed I'll need to wait a few more weeks for SSN.

Thanks in advance for any help!

^^ Not sure if you can answer my above question?? ^^

Basically I applied for SSN on the I-765, wondering if SSN is issued straight away or what to do once I receive the EAD in the mail.

Thanks!

Congratulations in your EAD approval.

When I received my EAD card was Thursday and I received my SSN card in the follow Monday. So it was just few days apart. Hopefully you will get yours fast too.

I filed a concurrent application I-130 & I-485 for my wife in October, 2017. I didn't apply for her EAD  assuming that the greencard would take less than 6 months. Now, she needs EAD, for it's obvious that she won't get the greencard soon. USCIS says it will take less than 90 days to process EAD. But, I see a lot of you still waiting for EAD after 200 days. What's happening? Does it now require longer time to process?

When it comes to USCIS processing time is very unpredictable. My EAD took 6 months, other people get in less than 3 months, and others are still waiting. So, the best you can do is send this application ASAP.

She can get her interview very soon, or no. So, it will really not hurt to send her EAD application.

Good luck!
