I am a permanent resident of Canada and hold a Dutch pasport.

I got married to a USA citizen last week.. after dating for 3 years..

I am still in Canada..employed as well as my apartment.

I am reading different stories.

And am confused..

If you are still in Canada, I think you will have to do consular processing...

which is IR1 or CR1 visa...

My new husband lives in WA state just accross the border..

I visit him on my visitors visa in my passport but travel back to Canada to go to work.

I am in the USA 3 to 4 days a week.

Can I still continue to do this?

If I visit the USA lets say this weekend..canI fill in the AOS then?

Ooohhh...Thanks for the spreadsheet.

Good news! I received e-notifications  from USCIS that my packet was received and was given receipts numbers already.  I received 4 text msgs and 4 emails. So, I'm assuming it's for the forms 130/130a, 485/864/693, 765, and 131. According to the email I should get the official receipt (Form I-797) in the  mail within 7-10 days. Yup! More waiting. haha! But I'm just happy right now, at least I know they received it. Also, my receipt starts with MSC so I think that means it went to Missouri Service Center.

AOS

10/10/17 – Package sent (Chicago Lockbox)

10/17/17- Package received

10/25/17 – E-notification (Text & Email) received

10/30/17 – NOA1 Received (From MSC/NBC)

11/03/17 - Biometrics Appointment Received (Appt. 11/14/17)

11/14/15 - Biometrics for I-485 & I-765 done

01/08/2018 - Received NOA2 (Request for applicant to appear for initial interview)

01/17/2018 - EAD/AP approved (Took 92 days)

01/18/2018 - Received Text & Email regarding EAD/AP approval

01/22/2018 - Approval Notice received in the mail

01/22/2018 - EAD/AP card processed and mailed out via USPS. (Estimated delivery date 01/24/2018)

01/24/2017 - EAD/AP card on hand

02/06/2018 - Interview - Recommended for approval

Once you file for adjustment of status, you cannot leave USA unless your green card gets approved, or you apply for advanced parole/travel document.. They consider your case abandoned when you depart USA and may cause you trouble coming back in. If you are not ready to leave Canada, better do the consular processing I guess.  It might be hard to cross the border with your pending application.

If you do adjustment of status.. You fill up these forms

I have no idea if it matters which service center it goes and the logic that goes with it (currently google-ing the service centers:D).

Anyways...Yeah! I can finally sleep tonight, knowing they received it. I just hope we don't get any RFEs.

And YAY for being Pinays! :)

Oh no. I-131 didn't end. Maybe you meant it has ended for DACA recipients ( Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals)

I-131 is still on for all other applications. I just sent mine.
