Good morning VJs:)

I am quitting my full time job but before I hand in my resignation letter, I am wondering if I will be eligible for next employment while i751 still pending.

My conditional green card expired on 3/05/17, extension letter  and Drivers license extended to 3/05/18, I submit i751 in Feb 2017. I am thinking to take 4-5mon off. By the time I start looking for new job, my extension letter might expired and i751 still pending (CSC.....ugh you know the pain). Also, my social security card is restricted.

Am I still qualified for I9 requirements? Is stamped I551 good enough for my next employment? Please advise and thank you so much for your help

Have a great day!!

Yes. I551 has the same "power" as a green card, its just a temporary version of it while you wait for an actual card. Does not affect your actual status whatsoever.

Also, my social security card is restricted.

Get this fixed asap. You could do this with expired card + extension letter as explained here https://secure.ssa.gov/poms.nsf/lnx/0110211025#c1

Thank you all for your help.

Thanks Charmander for the link resource. So should I just bring my expired GC + extension letter to a local SS office to get my card unrestricted? Do I need to make appointment?

You should also take your current restricted card. It may not be a bad idea to take a print out of that link. Essentially it instructs the ssa officers how to input the extension letter to the system. If they hesitate to process your request, show them the instructions.

Not sure where you live but some ssa offices could be hectic for walk-ins, if you could make an appointment (check website for your local branch contact), that would save your time. good luck.
