I love Fufu , dipped in bitterleaf or casava soup. I don't care for dried fish heads and

goat liver / kidney stuff.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Just something about an entire fish cooked with the eyes intact looking back at me. I can deal with individual fish parts, just not the WHOLE fish at once!! In Ghana they even eat just fish heads (eyes and all!!) I can't take it!!

I love eba, but they put too much fish in the soups. Can't wait till he gets here and cooks me the soups without all the fishy stuff. Also, CAN'T DO GOAT MEAT. YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well the only time I tried fufu was with that eru stuff.. haha.. maybe thats why i didn't like it?

My husband & I are not into Cassava, wether its Cassava fufu or plain Cassava. As for the fish, I love catfish and most fish except the cheap Tilapia. I loved dried fish as well and I love fish being BBQ. I love pounded yam fufu and garri to be swallowed with egusi soup. I also love pepper soup. As for the meat, I HATE guts of the cow and goat and refuse to eat it. I have seen some of the Nigerians eat insects when I was passing through the rural villages, fried ants, ewwww. I will never dare. I am not into Ogbonno soup either, I think thats whats its called. I do love bitter leaf and vegetable soup with garri.

I haven't had Fufu, but I've had the East African equivalent--ugali. It's not bad!

I hear the sweetest part of the fish are the eyes, but I never ate them. The key to eating a whole fish is to use your hands.

Goat meat is great, as long as you emphasize that you want a lean cut. In East Africa anyway, you can usually select the piece of meat you want hacked off by the butcher and you can insist that all the fat get cut off. Then it's great! Goat kidneys and testicles, however, are disgusting, and I won't eat a liver, whether it's from a chicken, a goat or elsewhere.

I don't care for chicken gizzards, which is a problem because they're always offered to a male guest, and I was often a guest. At first it was a problem, but when you pass them on to the eldest male in the room, he's certainly not going to turn them down.

I've had really good matumbo ("stomachs"), but in general I just don't like the thought of it or the thin, twisty intestines--no matter how well they're cleaned!

I wish I had tried the sweet white ants while I was in Kenya, but I never really found a good opportunity.

That could definitely be it--you've gotta try it with 'sauce gumbo" - okra sauce. I'll admit, it looks a little like snot, but tastes delicious. Fufu really isn't bad with any other sauces, but you're right, anything with eru tastes bad!!!
