Will it be $311 x 5 = $1,555 the amount in savings?? Please let me know if it is not correct. Thanks!

For the spouse of a US citizen it's $3 for each $1 in shortfall, but they are going to consider the totality of circumstances and make a judgement call.  Seeing only $1555 in savings would mean to any reasonable person, that the money will be gone by the time the visa is issued and travel expenses to the US will have been paid.  Not meeting the minimum requirement assures a negative decision.  Barely meeting them assures nothing.

How much the amount of savings would you think is reasonable? So I can get the ideas to prepare or refer me to the right link that I could get a look and do the math if any. Much appreciated! Thanks Pushbrk :)

It's really hard to say because it's a judgment call but I would think in terms of $10,000 or more plus reasonable travel expenses you will incur.
