AOS

December 30, 2005: I-485 received by USCIS

May 5, 2006: Interview at Phoenix district office. Approval pending FBI background check clearance. AOS finally approved almost two years later: February 14, 2008.

Received 10-year green card February 28, 2008

As I was lamenting earlier, I am getting my first-ever pair of prescription glasses today. My mudduh is going to meet me at the glasses place to help me pick out a pair that will reveal the real me.

Mostly copyediting. I've somehow fallen into copyediting scholarly journals (which is funny, because I'm not terribly scholarly). I work from home, so it can take some willpower to keep from doing fun stuff, like posting on this forum.

What do you do AOS?

Mostly copyediting. I've somehow fallen into copyediting scholarly journals (which is funny, because I'm not terribly scholarly). I work from home, so it can take some willpower to keep from doing fun stuff, like posting on this forum.

I wish I could work from home

It's a pretty good gig, all things considered. It can be isolating, though. It's nice to work on my own schedule, but I often end up working nights and weekends when deadlines are looming. I typically don't start talking to myself until at least noon, which I think is pretty good going. :)
