Yes, this thread is quite a nice refuge. There is way too much smugness and seriousness in some other threads. I have developed a clinical fear of the AOS page. Well, except for the FBI namecheck thread--some of my homies (or is it homeys?) are there, and even people who have been stuck in namecheck longer than we have!

December 30, 2005: I-485 received by USCIS

May 5, 2006: Interview at Phoenix district office. Approval pending FBI background check clearance. AOS finally approved almost two years later: February 14, 2008.

Received 10-year green card February 28, 2008

01/17/2007 Faxed the checklist to the Immigrant Visa Unit in Frankfurt

03/29/2007 Got letter from USCIS to provide evidence that our marriage is bona fide

04/02/2007 Sent to USCIS lots of evidence

05/03/2007 I have an unofficial "PETITION APPROVED" ...waiting for confirmation from Consulate

05/07/2007 Received email from USCIS ROME confirming that our petition was approved (why Rome? because we complained to the District Office Rome about the Sub-Office Frankfurt..it took too long for our petition to be approved)...now waiting for the interview letter from the Consulate

05/18/2007 E-mail from IV Frankfurt, our interview was scheduled for May 29th

05/19/2007 Packet 4 in the mail: ja ja ja interview letter

05/29/2007 Interview at 7.30 a.m. APPROVED Thank you, God!

06/01/2007 Visa arrived !

06/03/2007 Mayday on the plane POE Cincinnati

I'm getting my first-ever pair of prescription glasses today. I think it's all downhill from here. :(

Another thing is, we respect and honour our illustrious Captain Ewok...without him, we would have no place to come and relax.

Notice we are from different religions, different ages, different countries....yet there is no barrier. What does this tell the world as far as peace? And what's less, what does that tell other threads?

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

I have glasses for so many years... It's not that bad... But I use contacts most of the time ;)

Aw, thanks! Who knows what's next! Probably some age-related deterioration I haven't even thought of yet. It's tough when you get to 33. I'm sure Stacey would concur! But of course, she could be one of those young 33s, not a cranky 33 like I am.

Practically everyone I know has glasses and got them years ago. I only need them for driving at night. It seems like overnight, traffic lights went from being distinct colored circles to colored blobs. I'm kinda clumsy and also tend to lose things, so I'm a bit worried about having yet another expensive item to lose and/or break.
