Do we HAVE to include native language or is that just as a benefit for countries without a lot of English mail?

My wife in China didn't seem to have any concerns with just using English since they are able to use it a lot of the time anyway.

Mainland China uses the Simplified Chinese Alphabet (characters).  Enter her name and address in Simplified Chinese in the spaces provided.  Easiest way is to copy and paste, since most Americans can't write or type the characters themselves.

The question on the form doesn't ask anything about whether a person has "concerns".  Just provide the information requested.

The old I-130 used to ask using the words "native alphabet" rather than language.  The new form is a bit more confusing, but the key is whether the native language uses the "ROMAN ALPHABET" as in A B C....Z  etc.  For China, Japan, all countries using Arabic or Cyrillic, Hebrew or any other alphabet, need to provide the name and address in the native "alphabet".

pushbrk, thanks for the reply.

Would this relate to her mailing or permanent address?

Reason I ask - she currently lives in an apartment during the school year to support her daughter going to a better school. However, during weekends, summers, and holidays she moves back to her mom's place. I would like to have her mom's place be the address anything is sent to. Does that address get entered on the initial filing or items sent in later? If it is on the initial one, where? There does not seem to be a good place on either the I130 or I130a that seems clear to me

Read the actual question and answer it.  There are no questions about "permanent address" anywhere on any form.  Unless "mailing address" is specified, it is the physical address that is requested.

OK - so instead of interpreting "physical address" as what we would commonly call a permanent address or address where they legally are registered in China (ie hoku book), what the form is asking is where do they stay that are likely to get in touch with them?

I just am trying to make sure. In our application I have her divorce document which describes her living at her place, not her mom's. I don't want to have confusion or raise suspicion.

Thanks again for your quick answers.

If she has a home of her own, rented OR owned, then Mom's house is not HER physical address.
