Hi all,

My i-130 was approved nearly a month ago. Since then, I've been calling the NVC to receive my case number and invoice ID so I can continue to pay the fees online. FINALLY, today I was given the information and the representative said I'll be receiving a welcome package with further instruction. When I try to input the Case number and invoice number on the website to pay the fees, it says I can't continue processing yet. I thought once I had the case number and invoice ID, I'd be able to move on???

Anyone else had this happen to them?

Thanks!

Wait for the instruction letter, the case isn't probably in their system as of yet or hasn't been updated yet. Are you using a lawyer? If not, you will have to complete the DS-261 first and wait for it to be reviewed before you actually go ahead and pay the fees.

Hi, thanks for your response. I am not using a lawyer. I was able to fill out the DS-261 yesterday. How long should it be before I can pay the fees? The 'fees' link is still locked when I sign in with the case number and invoice id.

Once they review your DS261, the fees will be unlocked. You can also give them the call and tell them to review your DS261.

Tell them to review it? That works? They always seem to tell me that I need to be patient and just quote the number of weeks that the website says it takes...

i called them up the same day i submitted my DS261 online and the operator reviewed it over the phone with me and the AOS fee got unlocked.

make sure you pay one fee at a time and wait for it to show up as paid before you pay the 2nd one. Also use internet explorer. Apparently their website doesn't work properly for the payment system on other browsers.

Nope, you cannot pay them the same day. It takes about 3 or 4 days for the AOS to clear and once it shows paid on the portal then and only then you should proceed with paying the IV fee otherwise it causes issues. Mine got stuck as it was showing the AOS as "in processing" and i paid the IV. But the 1st IV one didn't go through and once AOS cleared it showed me as open again so i paid again. For some reason IV fee didn't clear after a few days and i ended up calling NVC and spoke to a supervisor and also sent a support email with the attachment showing the money taken out of my account a few days ago while the portal still showing the IV as in processing.

the 1st time around the processing didn't even hit my bank or it was the 2nd one that they manually cleared, idk. But it took a few extra days for it to clear, look at my signature, it tell you the story.
