So Rida has left for Casa. I think it is pointless at this time. I don't think he believes the consulate will open tomorrow either. So, if it is still closed he will go to Marrakesh for a few days and then go home. Reminds me of the old addage, if your given lemons make lemonade. (or something like that)

I can answer that. The word "Allah' cannot be made plural. God can be plural, as 'Gods', thus a muslim will use Allah and not god.

Allah is God (with a capital G) In English we do not make God (with a capital G) plural either

god (little g) in Arabic is ilah (sorry for bad transliteration) and can be made plural just like gods (little g in english)

I read that briefing a few days ago. Was disappointing and didn't say anything that would make any of us feel better. The only upside for me and mine is that we'll have more recent pictures to give them of my second visit. Leaving May 10.

Was the one that detonated himself running from capture, or was it on purpose right there? Do you think it is good that he didn't plan it well enough to kill anyone else. I read somewhere that it is a good sign that they apparently weren't trained well enough to do more damage, lack funding perhaps. Is it possible that could be the case?

I don't know, generally, but often here it seems to be a new convert signaling thing, like using random Arabic phrases to mean "god willing" and "praise be to god", or the whole hijab decision, which sometimes seems like one part finding one's way in a new faith and one part signalling/dressing up.

I always made God with a capital G. God has no name so therefore God would be a proper noun.
