Hi everyone, I just found out that I was approved from the USCIS yesterday Oct, 18 2017. I am now waiting for the mail for NOA2 to get to my house.

I want to know, what should happen next while I wait? What should I do?

P.S I had helped with my petition from an attorney.

Your case will be send to NVC, then NVC will assign the case # and send it to US Embassy. Wait until you have the email from NVC to do the next step, or after 3-4 weeks you can call NVC.

BTW, i see your post in Vietnam, so my best advise for you: You must go back and attend the interview with your fiance, otherwise the change to get the visa approved is slim.

1. NVC will send you a letter in the mail, not email.

2. You do NOT have to "go back" and attend the interview, but it helps make the relationship look more genuine. Many petitioners did not attend the interview with their beneficiaries and their cases still got approved.

I would start preparing documents for the interview. If you don't plan to attend the interview with your fiance/fiancee, gather the required documents and send them to your fiance/fiancee. Use FedEx, not USPS or UPS.

You did not specify K-1 or IR1/CR1 so I am going to assume it's K-1. Download the PDF file below and look at what documents you need to prepare for your fiance/fiancee's interview.

For the Form DS-160, does the petitioner (Myself) fill it out or the beneficiary (My fiancé in Vietnam)?

Your fiancee is supposed to fill it out but if she can't or is not proficient in English to understand the form, then you can do it for her. I had my then-fiancee on the phone while I filled it out for her.

Take this opportunity as Frontgear says and gather everything. Make sure you have your i134 ready with IRS transcripts, W2's and a employment verification letter. Depending on your income, you may need additional documents.

It's been 30 days since I got the approval letter from the UCSIS. I was wondering, do I have to sent anything to the NVC? Like any form or paper work?
I am hearing you don't need to do anything and wait for the letter from the NVC. It has been 30 days and still no letter from them yet.

I would call NVC and see if they have received your file and ask for the HCM-XXXX number.

So I got my case # from the NVC just 2 days ago, and this is what I get for my status

"Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment."

I did not schedule an interview yet, so should I wait for the package to arrive at my fiancé's house and then make one?

Instructions to Pay Your Visa fee

In Vietnam you may pay your Visa Fee in person at any branch of Vietnam Post. You must first register on the applicant site and choose the ‘schedule your appointment’ option to access the payment option details. See below for the steps.

Step 1

Log-in to our online applicant system and create a profile. This will ensure the proper amount is paid and activated in timely manner. Values are shown in U.S. Dollars (USD); however the fee payable is in Vietnamese Dong (VND) if you are making the payment in Vietnam. This page has more information about the different visa application fees.

Step 2

Click on Schedule My Appointment option on the left-hand side of your screen. Complete Steps for Visa Type, Post, Visa Category and Visa Class.

Step 3

Once you are on the Payment screen, click on Payment Options. You will print your CGI Deposit slip to take to a Vietnam Post location. DO NOT PRINT MULTIPLE COPIES OF THE DEPOSIT SLIP. If you are applying for multiple visas for your family or group, only ONE payment is required.

The VND amounts are based on the consular currency exchange rate determined by the U.S. Department of State. Applicants who do not pay the correct fee for their visa type may be restricted from scheduling an interview.
Step 4

Visit a Vietnam Post to pay your visa fee. When you pay the visa fee, you acknowledge that this is a non-refundable visa application processing fee required as a prerequisite to the processing of an application. It does not indicate the existence of a contract with the applicant, nor does it guarantee a successful application. There is no refund possible regardless of the outcome of this application.

Step 5

After you have paid the visa application fee save Vietnam Post Cashier receipt for your records. It cannot be replaced if it is lost. You will not be able to schedule an appointment without your CGI Reference number.

Step 6

Once you pay your visa fee, you can schedule your interview at 1100am the following business day. Log-in to your profile and complete the Schedule Your Appointment steps with your receipt number.

For the Affidavit of Support form. Since my visa will be a nonimmigrant visa, can I have a co-sponsor or a co-sponsor only works for an immigrant visa? It is for the K-1 Fiancé Visa.

You can have a co-sponsor but it is entirely up to the consulate officer to decide whether or not to accept it.
