Hello,

We will be sending in our AOS application very soon to the USCIS. Is it possible not to get AOS Interview at all later on? What papers have you submitted aside from the required to support your AOS application and worked well for you?

I am clearly new at this.. Help!

For people to help you you need to include some details on how you are applying for a green card. Want sort of visa are you here on for example?

To try to answer your questions in a generic as way as possible:

Yes, some people get green cards without interviews.

For AOS send everything they ask for, some things are optional, like extra tax returns, that's up to you. Don't send stuff that they don't ask for, it will most likely be ignored/tossed. This other evidence will be required at the interview, if you have one.

There is no way of determining if you wont get asked for a interview. There isnt anything extra that you should send that will get you out of having an interview. It is pretty much luck of the draw.

I 130 & I129F (K3) and AOS info in timeline

Any link here from those who submitted AOS and with no interviews at all and got their green cards?

Forget about not getting an interview. There's nothing you can do to affect that outcome. An interview is not such a terrible thing after all. Its also not clear that those who avoided interviews won't end up being interviewed in the future when they apply to remove the conditions of their residency.

I would take a stab in the dark and say that most people who avoided interviews fit into the following categories:

1) Have been married for less than 2 years.

2) Most often came to the USA on K-1 visas

3) (Maybe) Have a local office with a high workload

However I'm sure someone will post how they don't fit the above criteria and avoided the interview. Even if you do fit into the above criteria, that doesn't guarantee you won't be interviewed, its very much luck of the draw.

i am not good into searching things..

There are no tips to give you, nothing different that you can send, in fact nothing you can do at all to ensure no AOS interview. It is purely luck and which area office you fall under. All I can say is that if you are unsure as to what to send in, please read the guides here for a good idea of how to do things and double check all of your forms before you send them off.

I'd also suggest that you *do* try to search things out here on VJ. There is a wealth of information for you here, all at the tip of a finger... ;)

Okay, darn! :D

Thanks folks.

It doesn't hurt to wish there is no interview right? If there is such. And simply curious.

Tough luck.

I'll wander around here a bit for those threads..

How about giving us some details of your case then?

We plan to pay the AOS filing fee. biometrics services with personal checks..What is the advantage of paying thru check than money order etc.? Aside from the fact that you can monitor if the check has been cashed in so application received well..?

Other than what you mentioned? Checks are cheaper than money orders, for one.

Really I can't see any benefit in using a money order over a check. BTW - you can put the I-485 and biometrics fee combined onto a single check.

Thanks Dr. LHA. We will do separate checks. But I was delighted with that information very much.

Regarding SS, I have it with me, under my maiden name. I plan to bring it in (to change the name to my married name) to the same SS local office tomorrow, along with the requirements via their official website.

I am filing the AOS using the married name in all the forms and items therein applicable.

Should I wait 'til I receive the new SS card or file AOS wthout the corrected SS card? I know both are isolated and work independently of the other but if you were me, would you wait? Just in case things don't work out well or for some reason.

I am getting paranoid, yes. I apologize.
