I honestly don't know what to feel at this point.  I guess I just feel blah?  I thought I'd be on top of the world this afternoon.

Thanks for the well-wishes, appreciate it.  I'm working on trying to cheer myself up about becoming a citizen, just not there as of yet.

I think that's how I'd expect to feel. You spend $$$ and take years to get to this point, and ... meh! You're allowed to vote (woohoo!) and serve on juries (not so much woohoo!) now. YOU NEVER NEED TO DEAL WITH USCIS EVER AGAIN! And with Canadian blood in your veins, you can still look down on the natives.

Come Saturday night, my outlook may change since my husband is taking me and our daughter to my favorite restaurant to celebrate...swanky little Argentinian place.  Maybe I'll at least feel happier with a few drinks in me.  And a good steak.

Argentinian? Surely he can find a nice authentic American place to take you - golden arches and happy meals, maybe?

LOL  there's actually a restaurant in NY called "Trailer Park Lounge" which was just a little TOO "American" for me when he first took me there a long time ago, with the decor and food served.

This place we're going to on Saturday is awesome---an Argentinian steakhouse.  We've been there dozens of times over the years and hosted parties there as well---impeccable service (I was able to speak with my favorite waiter on the phone when making reservations and mentioned what we would be celebrating, and he assured me he'd personally serve our table and make the night special for me), and the most amazing white sangria I've ever tasted.

Read about it in Yelp....it's...interesting.

Not sure I'm the type of gal that likes eating under walls covered in roadkill heads, shotguns, tire rims and license plates with a huge toilet bowl ashtray outside, but might be your cup of tea ....not to mention I kind of like receiving UTENSILS when I eat in a restaurant.

Apparently, it's all about the "ambiance and experience" there.... yeah.  Don't get me wrong, I'm fun and like a challenge but even that was just....ugh.  My husband and his boss, on the other hand, thought my reaction upon entering and throughout the entire evening was freakin' hillarious.

I'm sure I'll feel better and be able to focus more on the "end result" rather than what led up to it after the end of this week.
