Arrived at the London Embassy at 0900 for our 1000 appointment, not much of a que so we were allowed to go inside. Once inside the Embassy we quickly received our immigrant number. Jon and I went and sat down and waited for our number (which was 008) to be called. Well an hour and a half later it was called and we went to window 14 where a British falla asked for our paper work. All he asked for was my birth certificate, the I-134, police record, passport and last but not least the latest wage slip that Jon had. Before I gave him the documents I looked at the forms on the desk in front of the man that was serving us and I saw a big RED approval stamped across our paperwork!!! I murmured under my breath to Jon "whats that approval thingy on there" at this the man tried to cover it over with our other paper work. Take copies of everything before you go to the Embassy as they will ask. We were handed the pink form that arranges for you to receive your Visa in the mail and told to go sit down again and wait for our number to be called again.

Approximately 10 minutes later we were called to window 13, where a pleasant gentleman questioned us about how we first started talking, where we first physically met and which state would we be residing in. This took a couple of minutes only and then he asked which Job Jon did and what position Jon held and he then asked me what I did and that was about all there was to it. I questioned him about the X-ray and he told me to just put it in my suitcase and to not worry about it, I do not have to show it on POE. He promptly smiled and said Congratulations you are approved and to go and pay the sims fee.

We found that the anticipation of the whole process was more stressful than the actual process itself, the Embassy staff were curtious and polite and very professional. The fee for the visa delivery is £9.50 and will be delivered by friday at the latest. We were out of the Embassy at 1100, making the whole process approximately 2 hours, most of which was just sitting waiting.

I hope that those who have appointments in the future have an easy experience as we did.

Janice and Jon

Yep that was us! Russ is definitely a blonde. I kept sitting there wondering if I should say something but I didn't want to look like a total psycho-which I probably did, sitting there staring at you guys anyway!

Hello Guys, Congratulations! Since this process is fresh in your mind, I could use your help. Mo is my London based fiance and we've sent in a request to set up an interview a month ago. He hadn't received any notice, but today he received a form to send back (DS-230 I think?) The form was pretty basic: do you have a visa, what's your passport number, etc. Did you go through this process? How long did it take to receive a date for your interview? How far out was the date from when you received confirmation?

Many thanks!

We were married, 5/18/06

Submitting AOS,

I can't keep track of these timelines....

Hi Sarah I see by your time line that you have been waiting quite a while, the above form should of been in your package 3, fill it out and send it back registered post. Keep emailing the Embassy, we did at least 2 a week, the help line did nothing for us so do not bother with it. Good luck pm me if you need anything else.

Hi Janice Thanks for sharing. My turn will be coming up in a few months hopefully, but the idea of travelling to London with 2 teenagers fills me with dread. I've travelled all over the world but seem to get lost really easily in the UK LOL. How easy was it for you to find the Consulate?

Take care and good luck :luv::thumbs::dance:
