Theoretically (if I could vote) - at this point I'd sooner add another box to the bottom of the ballot and tick Mickey Mouse. I figure a defaced ballot is better than not voting at all - or voting for a candidate just because there is no-one else or because its the "lesser of two evils". I'm not sure I really need to be giving my vote away to some random politician who doesn't represent my views.

Kind of like this oldie , but goodie, from the past:

"Don't change dicks in the middle of a screw...reelect Nixon in '72."

For those that don't get it...Richard Nixon's nickname was "#######" and he was up for reelection for US President in 1972. ;)

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

Great idea--maybe I can pencil in "Diane Ablonczy" (born in Peoria, IL; she's the MP for "my" riding in Calgary) on the ballot in 2008-11.

I'm voting Democrat this time around.

I've never voted Republican in a presidential election. Then again I only voted in 1996 and 2000. Didn't bother in 2004; Kerry was hopeless. I decided I'd rather not vote than cast my vote for Kerry, who was never going to win anyway.

The current crop of Democrat candidates does worry me, but 18 months out from the 1992 election few people outside of political junkies had ever heard of Bill Clinton...and everyone assumed the election was a mortal lock for George H.W. Bush. A lot can happen in 18 months...I hope it does.

I'd rather have the Dems than the Republicans right now, but that isn't saying a whole lot. Some of the Congressional Dems scare me with their rhetoric.

I spoke with Jon the other night about the elections, here in England we go to the ballot box tomorrow (just local elections). I have said to Jon that I would like to go with him just to see how it all works, he kinda giggled at that. Washington State is a Democrat State so guess what we will be voting

Normally I would say the best non-republican candidate. But will likely have to vote Democratic, because Green, Libertarian etc. have about zero chance of winning, and must not waste a vote to make a statement, especially after this horrid administration.

For me (if I could vote) that would be a good argument to support the Greens or Libertarians. Third (or fourth, fifth, etc...) parties would be good for this country. If you support them, vote for them! If the two main parties don't represent your views, let them know. I would rather not vote at all than choose the lesser of two evils.
