After reading more about how you met I kinda agree with others that the CO believed that there was collusion between your mother and his aunt.

I'm so sorry for u! Honestly  I believe their is more to this story on why he was denied. I believe what others are saying. U need to get a senator or congressman involved  to see what the denial is for. This seems very strange for it to be just  some red flags like..age, religion or 1 meeting. Their is something that happened during interview or something CO found out about ur finace' to get this kind of denial. I really hope the best for u!

Is this the worst kind of denial one can get?

The CO should've asked more questions about my aunt then because that really is how we met. And not ask about how big or small the house she stayed in was.

I feel like the CO already made up her mind on rejecting our case before meeting my fiance and that's just not fair esp when he answered everything correctly.

You could be right (CO already made up her mind). That seems to happen sometimes. On the other hand, you were not there, correct? Perhaps there was some miscommunication and/or misunderstanding between your fiance and the CO, and that's what led to the rejection. Maybe he didn't answer everything "correctly" in the eyes of the CO. Maybe your fiance forgot about a question or two he was asked when telling you about the interview.

But as VisaCode said, only the CO knows and we're all just speculating...

Sometimes? They make their decision before an interview and the purpose of the interview is just to confirm their decision and clarify inconsistencies if there are any. When we had our interview I felt the way as the decision had been made before the interview as well.

Contact your senator's office and request the reason for refusal from the embassy. If that doesn't help request a FOIA but that can take some time. Meanwhile you can marry if you wish and file a CR1 and if it is a material misrep you can make a waiver packet with the help of a good immigration attorney, well versed in waivers and familiar with your embassy. If the CO falsely assumed a misrep then no waiver is needed but you must front load the CR 1 petition to disprove the reason for the assumed misrep. This wouldn't be the first time a beneficiary was falsely accused and then approved with a spousal visa after a refused K1. A experienced waiver lawyer will cost you a lot, whereas any attorney will be messing you up but hopefully you won't need a waiver packet and the reason is a false finding.

That seems to be a flat out denial and they’ll send it back and it’ll die. Your next step is to get married and file again through spousal. The officer basically said they don’t believe your relationship is bona fide. I hate this for you, but I think that’s your only option

@Annie0913 I find the question about how big the house was , so subjective. If a 2 bedroom house is big to one person, it’s not big to another. That’s a very strange question to ask imo.

You seem like a very resourceful kind of lady. Please consider moving to Cambodia and going the Spouse visa route. There are so many opportunities over there for people like you, albeit temporarily. Personally, I’m leaving a career involving multi-million £ Deal’s to be with my love and to become a step mother in a very small town which doesn’t give me any opportunity in my current industry , but I know I can make it in another industry. Ive spent some time in Cambodia and from what I know about Cambodia, there’s so much opportunity there to make a difference and to make a living... do consider going there to be with your love.

All the best and a big hug.

I wouldn't over focus on each question. Consular officers on this site have previously shared that if they were suspicious of something going into the interview they would go in and ask a bunch of questions that aren't relevant and mix that in with what the problem is actually about. It could be in any of those questions. It is however likely something that doesn't match between the i129f petition and the DS-160 (or they wouldn't say it's a straight up lie imo) - one or more of the questions would have been asked to verify or confirm this.

It would be interesting to here from @ConOfficer on this one.

I’ll be hoping to bring my fiancé in from Cambodia soon, I lived in Phnom Penh Cambodia about 5 years.

For the OP did you consider going to the interview? I will fly to Cambodia for it and it tends to alleviate the questioning from just one person available to answer as you both are available to answer.

Are you sure about that?  I have never heard of allowing either person to answer questions.....

Does that link work? If you read reviews of the experience in Cambodia most people attended together. Varies by country though if you are both allowed.
