I don't know if it matters, but why wouldn't you just send real photos? You can print them off yourself or go to Target and have them printed for about 20 cents.

We only sent 3 or 4 photos with our petition.

I printed off two...on a colour scanner at work. Just remember, photos are secondary evidence so you don't need to send a bunch. :)

I'd send individual pictures with your application instead of putting a few on a page. That is what we did. We sent 6 pictures and they were sent in a ziploc bag and labeled. On the back of each picture we wrote our names, dates, and the location.

I've heard you should send real photographs, and the photographs should have date/location/occasion written on the back. Like they were taken out of an old school photo album.

Do they need to be printed out on photo paper or can there be a group of them printed on paper?

Thanks

Am sure many people have done it both ways - I wouldn't do the montage on paper thing nor would I recommend anyone do it either. It wouldn't surprise me if people have been approved either way.

As cheap as it is to do, print them on photo paper or get them printed at any of the 100's of local places (WalMart, Target, local grocery stores, etc), that's the best. I think there's a time and a place to go cheap/be-creative, and this isn't one of them (just my opinion).

Do you think it's necessary/helpful to include a picture of he and I with my kids or he and I with his family if we have them?

Yes - always helpful with family members - if possible of course. Not required, but always nice if you have them.

I agree with this - it shows that you have met your future in-laws.

Um....not really. I did mine on a colour printer....wrote the information on the back. It obviously worked...my husband is here. Can't always go by "what you hear".

I printed out 6 on a page, with the dates/places written underneath. Didn't worry about printing them on photo paper just to paste them down on a paper. Seemed silly.

The USCIS workers don't live in a bubble. I think they're hip to digital photography and know that a photo printed on a piece of paper isn't any different or less valid than one printed on a glossy smaller piece of paper.

I think we sent 5 pictures total. They were scanned on the computer and printed out 2, to a page. We didn't use photo paper, just regular paper. There were no problems, the interview is July 9th and my fiance can bring real photos with him there. Like someone else said you shouldn't believe everything you hear. Do what you feel is best for you.

For my fiance's interview I brought a (big) scrapbook with me - I attended. There was a glass between us so we just opened it up and told him about the pictures...

I do not think that it matters but I know that I sent in real photos on a sheet of paper with a title underneath. If you print them there really should not be a difference.

Just FYI, I got an RFE requesting more evidence of our relationship. In the RFE it stated that only film dated photographs were considered as secondary evidence. However, I have not ran into anyone else with this problem??? Just a heads up.
