I485 part2 on page 3

So I am filling out i485 right now and I am very confused. 

 

My situation here is that I have my student visa with i20. I got married on 9/27 this year. 

So, Ob part 2 item1, I am supposed to check 1.a Family based, Immediate relative of a U.S. citizen form i130. 

 

Okay,

 

on item 2, it is asking me , ARE YOU APPLYING FOR ADJUSTMENT BASED ON THE IMMIGRATION AND NATIONALITY ACT section 245i?

 

well I don’t know what that is. So I looked at that NOTE right down below, and it says “if you answered “yes” to item number2. You must have selected a family based, employment based, special immigrant, blah blah blah” 

 

so my question is, am I supposed to say yes on this item2 question?

 

if I am, what am I supposed to write on part 3? I mean, am I principal applicant? Or detivative?

No, you almost certainly are not under 245(i). Without going into details, this is something you would likely know if it applied to you.  https://www.hooyou.com/245i/faq.html

 

If you're filing as a spouse of a USC/LPR, then you're the principal applicant.
