Good evening/good morning to all!

It's been a while since I posted here, I've got a question for you all.

We submitted the application for my wife's green card and received a letter requesting more information in September since we only provided my 2016 tax returns (NOT W-2's) and didn't include any information about my salary or assets. The tax forms were based on the last 6 months I worked in Japan before coming back to the US.

We have everything together now (pay stubs, bank and asset statements etc.) and should be about 3 times over the poverty line in my area, but we were wondering if we should include the original Japanese tax form that my tax specialist used to create my tax return?

Since it was only the last 6 months I worked there in Japan, we're worried that it will do more harm than good to include it because I wasn't making enough to support her then.

Thoughts? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. 263a.png

Just to clear up some confusion:

all the bank statements, pay stubs, assets and other information we have is based on my current income.

Will it be enough if we just send that and not send the Japanese tax forms with it's translation? One of the people who's helping us says it should be okay just to send in the income, since I have enough in assets and savings.

The 2016 tax forms submitted at first were a 8879, a 1040, and a 1116 for the IRS. The income in japan that was on the 2106 tax returns wasn't enough to really have to pay anything here.

We can get the Japanese translation pretty easily enough this week, I think, but we're just worried we might not have as much time next week though. When it concerns my wife, I don't like to leave much if anything to chance when it's legal stuff.

Are you currently in Japan? Because the income has to be USA based. Obviously if you move to the USA you won't be making that anymore. (exceptions would be military)

It needs to be USA based and I'd recommend sending the last 3 years of tax returns.

I've been back in the States since July 2016. My job in the states, which is what my information is based on, started in Feb 2017. We won't really will be able to submit my updated taxes of the income I've earned in the States since coming back for another two months.

My wife and I married this July after her initial K1 Visa was approved.

So you submit paperwork for the current job. Paychecks and a job letter.

Yep, that's what we have currently and everything should be ready to go.

Just wanting to be sure I don't need to pay for a translation if I don't have to. 😅
