In August I send out my I485 combined with an I765 and an I131 all supporting documents and a cashiers check for 1225$. A month later I found the whole package in my mailbox with a rejection letter due to an 'incorrect fee', upon calling USCIS admitted that they made a mistake and that the fee was indeed correct, after I asked if I could simply resubmit the complete package they reaffirmed.

So in September I send the complete package back a couple days after I received it with a new cover letter explaining the situation and wrote on the package 'open by officer' as I was instructed by USCIS on the phone.

After two and a half week I called to get an update on this second submission and the operator told me it was rejected because I used an outdated form I485. So they either updated the form in between my submissions or I made the mistake the first time too and they simply didnt catch it and thus told me to resubmit the complete thing..

Is there anything I can do to speed up the process since USCIS incorrectly rejected my package and caused the initial delay in the process?

I-485 was updated 06/26/17. No previous versions are accepted. Check your I-765 too - that was also updated 07/17/17.

Agree with @broppy. All you can do is re-do the application with latest versions and send it.
