This morning, I was filling in the I-134 and everything was humming along fine until ...

9. Any previously submitted Affidavits of Support? (my edits)

Name: None Date Submitted: N/A

Name: None Date Submitted: N/A

10. Submitted a visa petition to USCIS on behalf of the following persons? (my edits)

Name: M.S. Relationship: Fiance Date Submitted: 02/20/07 (e.g., I-129F w/supporting photos & docs)

Name: None Relationship: N/A Date Submitted: N/A

Thing is, the pdf software won't allow different dates to be entered for #9. and #10. Once a date or N/A is entered, those characters pre-populate the other date cells. I cannot enter 02/20/2007 for the I-129F submittal and enter N/A for the other dates. I've reviewed the VF guide for K-1 Visa and the K-1 Tips, as well as, read through the 3-page instructions on the I-134 itself. Any suggestions?

Last question -

11. Do I (the petitioner) intend to make specific contributions to the support of the person named in item 3? Well, of course.

I'm not sure I understand the intent of this question. It asks how much I'll contribute. I'll be supporting the entire household initially. When M.S. gets a job, we'll split the expenses. That's the plan at least. I'm not sure how to answer this question. Any thoughts?

Thanks very much for your help!

For Q11: N/A ( K1 visa process for permanent residence )

Thanks, Khurram! When I filled out the I-129F in February, I was advised repeatedly to fill out every single box on each form, even if that means entering "None" or "N/A." When I viewed the sample I-134 form in the K1 Guide, many boxes were left blank. Thank you for the link! I've saved it on my desktop.

And that leads to another question ... should we fill in "None" and "N/A" to ensure that every box is filled out on each form - or - should they be left blank if/when the question doesn't apply?

I wonder if we will be able to use the forms that expire on the 30th, at least for a couple months. Or else I've got to fill a new one. That sucks.

Remember the I-129F expiry confusion in February? The USCIS posted a new one, retracted it, then posted to expired one, then some hero on VJ found that they would accept the old one for a while.

This is correct. I even email the Embassy in Thailand and they said that they would except the 4/30/07 expire dates because they are the latest forms.

As for filling them out it is alright if some are filled in with Black Ink. As for #11 it is N/A ( K1 visa process for permanent residence )

Correct me if i'm wrong but aren't quesitons 9 & 10 meant for petitions you have submitted in the past and not the current person you're petitioning? So the answer you placed on #10 right now - M.S. ---- Fiance ----- 02/20/07 -> is your current fiance? I think just leave this blank too.

What I placed here in my form were my parents names since I petitioned both of them. i didn't put my fiance's name in 10 at all just my parents. They accepted my Affidavit and we got our visa approval a couple of weeks back. Then just answered - I will be supporting Joan (last name) as my wife and she'll be living with me forever in question 11.
