I am August filer, Los Angeles office, did my fingerprints on September 6 and my status still shows Case was received on August 15.

3 people from Los Angeles office who applied around my date are In Line since October 10. I am not sure that the offices do not update the online status, obviously depends from case to case

It is different. We are SF filers. We don’t really know the time line of LA office but if you file online, in the past it would be quicker. Now everyone uses Online so it will cause some significant delay for all applicants. (I believe)

Unfortunately still no news, stuck in "Fingerprint Appointment Was Scheduled". I managed to schedule an Infopass appointment online at the end of the month, will try to let you know what I learned after the appointment.

Oh sorry to heat that. Hopefully after the office visit your application will move. Good luck.

Quick Update:

Had my Infopass appointment at the beginning of December, they said that the background check had been cleared and that my application was still in the Service Center, so they didn't have the exact date of my interview. They also mentioned that they were still processing March filers at the time.

It's been 3 weeks since then, still no interview letter and my status is still stuck in "Fingerprint Appointment Was Scheduled". Looks like I'll have to wait for the letter until 2018 at this point.

Will try to schedule another Infopass in mid-January.

Latest Update:

Had my second Infopass today and they told me this time that my N-400 application is stuck in Background Check (I have a clean record btw) and therefore they can't schedule an interview at the moment until the record is cleared + they added that there's nothing I can do to speed up the process.

Another update:

Called USCIS and asked to speak to Tier 2 officer, he reiterated that there's nothing they can do because my case is still pending in National Benefits Center and they can process it for up to 12 months due to pending background check, so looks like I've exhausted every single option that was available and at this point I can only wait for the end of March to see if my interview gets scheduled.

How is your case now? I filed on April 6th, 2017, and was told my case is backlogged due to security clearance. I haven't heard any news after fingerprint from them.

Thanks for asking, I called them again yesterday and the case is still stuck at NBC, no movement at all, the officer recommended to file an inquiry when my case is out of the processing times, but the problem is that it might take a while for me to become eligible for it (right now the USCIS website shows cases as of February 14 for the SF office).

Scheduled one last Infopass in the middle of the month and if they confirm that there's no progress with the case, then I will start looking into letters to ombudsman/congressman/etc.

Do you know if there's any way to contact the National Benefits Center directly and ask for the case status from their side? I couldn't find any information about this process online.

Were you delayed during your BC for the green card ? Also, may I know what your Next Steps status says on the following site: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do  ? If you aren't already familiar with this site, please note that this is not the same as myaccount. You need to create a separate login, enter your NBC/IOE case number to track, and then check the status. It will show the current status at the top, and two sections below for 'Case History' and 'Next Steps'. It would be very interesting to see what those two sections say.

On the new website my status says: "We scheduled your biometrics appointment".

Yes, but what does 'Next Steps' say on the website mentioned above ? By 'new website' I assume you mean myaccount (https://my.uscis.gov/account/applicant) . But that's not the same as the site I quoted above.

Oh yes, got it, for the next steps it says: "We will prepare your case for officer review.  If we need more information, we will notify you."
