My fiance is going to petition k1k2 visa for me and my kids.,I went to the USA for three weeks last month to meet him. It's the first time we met in person. We want to mail the i-129F as soon as possible. He'll come to my country two months later but we don't want to wait till the second meeting then to apply fiancee visa. Is it ok if we petition  for k1k2 visa before our second meeting? Can we take evidences of the second meeting when I go for k1k2 interview?

Agreed. While you have met the meeting requirements to go ahead and file the K1, another visit before filing won't hurt.

Your fiance can file even if you've only met once provided that the meeting happened within the last 2 years prior to the filing date. He can visit upon filing and for you guys to gather more evidences. And yes, you can bring all the new proofs to the interview BUT there's no guarantee that the consular officer would look at them. If I was in your position, I'd proceed with the second meeting before filing so that I could include the new evidences in the petition. All the best!

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

I would advise that you guys spend more time in person, not just for the petition but also to get to know each other a little bit more.

I second this. K1 visa means marriage and marriage is a huge commitment. Please take your time to spend time with this person and ensure you are in love and they are the right person for you before you submit everything. My fiancé and I spent 4 months together in my country and then 2 and a half years in a long distance relationship visiting each other many times and this was really beneficial for us to have this time to decide whether we are compatible and truly in love. It's so important to really know the person you will be marrying.

Yes, your fiancee may go ahead and file for I-129F and you may take the evidence of your second visit to your K-1 visa interview. Just saying, if you already have a tourist visa you may even visit your fiancee during the process.

Thank you so much for your respondence to me. I also have some questions about my kids visa.

1) They'll be on k2 with me,but if they can't go to the USA within a year k1 approved, shall I need to petition  for immigrant visa for them then I can bring them over here?

2)How long will it take to apply a immigrat visa for a child under 21?

  1. Yes, somebody will need to petition for them. Then they can apply for an immigrant visa.
  2. Depends on who petitions.
    1. How old are they? If they are 18 or older when you marry, then only you can petition them and it must be done after you get a green card. ETA: ~2 years after you file for them. They may age out into F2B category, which is about a 7-8 year wait.
    2. If they are under 18 years old when you marry, then the USC spouse can petition for them. ETA: ~1 year.

I understand that it can happen, you met someone and you fall in love. My husband proposed to me 2 months after we started dating. We had 2 visits before applying and then proceed to have 3 more visits while we waited.

Not only the visits allowed us to spend more time together but it also allows us to gather more evidence of our relationship. If you only met once, you won't be able to bring significant evidence to your interview and is likely possible you will end up submitting pretty much the same evidence that you guys submit with the 129f package.

During the interview, your original 129 package will be in front of the person interviewing you so he/she will notice that what you submitted, is almost the same things you will bring for your interview and is highly probable she/he will ask you if you have any new evidence.
