Just trying to help without death parents here.

 

1) People responding here on the k-1 forum basically they either went through k-1 or a similar family based petition. You're asking the same question. Go click their names and you'll see their profile.

 

2) dead or not, unless you disowned them officially, they are your parents so they will also go through some background check. You need to put the information.

 

3) there are cases/ embassies that asked or do not ask. Mostly they don't. You got reply from one person who they did ask. So if you have additional questions ask that person and maybe learn why or how they asked. 

 

Im just trying to help here cause you're going through circles.

 

Also are you the beneficiary or the petitioner? If you are the US citizen I don't think they will ask your fiancé at the interview. But if you're the beneficiary maybe they may ask.

Yes, I put my wife parents information and entered deceased on the section on where they live (it's been awhile since I've completed the form).
