Well you are wildly off topic of the one issue I am discussing.  How is what he reported to have said inappropriate

I can see both sides, I think.  On one hand, it could have been one line taken out of context because we don't know the full conversation before and after that remark was make.  On the other hand, it can come off as sounding like a flippant remark...like telling a parent mourning a dead baby "well, you're young you can have more children".

Sometimes it's hard to know what to say to someone who is grieving, and even the most well-meaning comment can be taken the wrong way.  In the aftermath of that remark to the widow (and however it was meant/came across), he would do better to not mention the loss of her husband in any continuing twitter or facebook rant surrounding "fake news" and all that.  She probably doesn't wish her grief or her husband's name in any of that...

I'm by no means a Trump-supporter....but without the full text of the conversation we'll never know what actually did or did not happen.

if dude's got proof he didn't say it, why not come on with it so we get back to focusing on the nfl?

still stand by my account of the call b/t @realDonaldTrump and Myesha Johnson. That is her name, Mr. Trump. Not "the woman" or "the wife."

pardon me. it's dismissive and callous thing to say. not sure how you can't see that.

I dont think its callous at all. He was pointing out he was brave and volunteered, knowing what he was facing. As someone who has actually served in the infantry of our country, and understand the ramifications of such, I think its nothing more than preostetuing the situation to spew hatred at a president they don't like.

Exactly the same as when Obama gave the green light to get Bin Laden but was ridiculed by the MDR. Totally unacceptable and dumb partisan politics

Cause he pointed he volunteered, which is a brave act, but still does not make the pain any easier.  Not one darn thing wrong with what he said.

and you're entitled to your opinion, but its still just an opinion regarding a comment that was not directed toward you. in my mind it only matters how mrs. johnson received trump's comments.

Gold Star father: Trump's words misconstrued

http://www.cnn.com/2017/10/18/politics/gold-star-families-trump-cnntv/index.html

There is an interview with congress clown that reported this. She is a total off the charts clown. She said she wanted to grab the phone and quote "cuss him out"  She admitted she did not hear the whole conversation

My Dad Was KIA In Iraq – Here’s Why We Shouldn’t Bicker Over Phone Calls

Snip
The fact that Trump is even attempting to call every new Gold Star family is itself honorable. It’s one of the toughest things a president can do. To turn the ultimate sacrifice into a war of words is nothing more than salt in the wound. Deceased soldiers deserve our utmost respect, and bickering over this kind of protocol rarely ends well.

if it was a simple misunderstanding, why did trump say the whole thing was made up? how can words that were not said be misconstrued?

Jones-Johnson, speaking to The Post via Facebook Messenger, declined to elaborate.

But asked whether Wilson’s account of the conversation between Trump and the family was accurate, she replied: “Yes.”
