Travel overseas after interview but before oathtaking

Hi VJ'ers,

 

I would like to know if they allow you to travel overseas between the time you completed the citizenship interview to the time you attend the oathtaking ceremony. I have an upcoming trip right after my interview date and am concerned about my re-entry to the US. Any feedback is much appreciated.

So long as you have a valid green card (or valid stamp in your passport extending proof of your LPR status) you are fine re-entering the US.

 

You may be asked to provide proof of your travel during your oath ceremony, so make sure you bring your passport/travel itinerary on that day too so they can see the exit/entry stamps.  Also make sure you check the appropriate box regarding travel between the Interview date and Oath date on the back of your oath letter, as well.

Thank you Going through, that's really reassuring. I knew just one person who went through the same thing and all he did was to declare it during the oath.
