   In general, going by past occurrences, I would say a person starting a topic does have some responsibility to verify the accuracy of the article they post.

Nothing in the TOS about that.  Bad articles/links get posted here all the time.  You’ve done it, I’ve done it... it happens.

 

Besides, in this age of the preponderance of fake news, how can one really be certain, unless they were there and saw it happen with their own eyes?

Probably Lopez's writing was not fresh.

 

   I think the person who made the large donation asked Lopez to cut out the Trump jokes. Lopez continued and the audience let him know this was not really the appropriate venue for political jokes. Lopez agreed, made a back handed apology and finished his set.

 

   Whether Lopez was boo'ed or asked not to return or anything like that all seems to come from one person's account and I think that should be taken with a grain of salt.

   I'm not referring to the TOS really, although I have seen topics closed in the past for linking to unverifiable "news".

 

  What I meant is,  if someone doesn't verify the accuracy of the topic (or post) they make, often someone else will do it for them.

    From that video, it appears he is apologizing for a joke that did not go over well, but it does not appear that he was boo'ed off the stage.  It actually looks like he left to applause.
