Yea the packets are always circulating around. Ours was exactly the same as any other Argentinian (or really anyone else) applying for a K1. I already knew what was needed beforehand but you can't do anything until you get that packet from the embassy. Which is Packet 3. I don't believe it'll be different than what any other Colombian, or any other beneficiary from wherever, would receive but I could be totally wrong at the least you may not have to send copies to the embassy like us.. it is kind of crazy they ask us to send copies and then bring the originals to the interview.. It's just double work for nothing, but it's necessary for us to do to get an interview date...

You can prepare some of the paperwork though, especially asking for the police certificate since it takes about a month or more to receive but you have to keep in mind the certifications expire. I would just advise not to get them too early because you might have to get them again if the us embassy in bogota takes too long to schedule people.

did anyone get an email today??  I got an email from Bogotá asking for my fiancé's personal email address so they can send instructions directly to him. I wrote back and explained that they need to be sent to me because my fiancé does not have this kind of Internet access or knowledge. I don't think they understand about Cuba and limited connectivity/high cost of communication. My fiancé can only work nauta on his phone And has never opened a web browser in his life, we know already that appointments are scheduled on the web. Plus downloading the PDF instructions would take up tons of mobile data cost and he wouldn't be able to open it once he does. I could explain to him how to forward the info on to me but it would be time consuming and pointless when they can simply email me the info. Also my fiancé is leaving to visit family in the countryside tomorrow with no cell coverage and no email or Internet cafe anywhere. Got his password and tried checking his nauta via web but it wont let me. What to do? Did anyone else get this email requesting the fiance's personal email address?

on the bright side, I guess that means instructions are coming soon. Make sure your fiances check their email too!

I reached out to the embassy in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic inquiring about the process of transferring a case from Havana to DR and they swiftly guided me to Bogotá. 🤣

I completely agree with that.  I haven't seen a way to do that on VJ, but there are other options through Facebook or maybe a Google Hangout/shared drive.

I think a facebook group would be extremely helpful. Should I set one up?

For the people whose interviews were canceled, holy moly - devastating. Please do keep us posted and we're sending good vibes your way.

if you do you set one up, can you make it a "secret group" and give it an innocuous name that doesn't reveal what it's for?

'@AriSmith I believe the packet their speaking of is the packet 3... Argentina sent me this packet stating what documents I need to gather and where my fiance can get his medical done since they only work with a couple clinics/doctors. You'll have to wait for Colombia to send you these instructions before you can move forward. Most likely they'll have you send copies, like Argentina is making us do, before they send you an interview date.

It's a very frustrating process, especially for y'all. But it truly is a waiting game. We're at the government's mercy and any loopholes will just end up biting us in the ###.. unfortunately.

My heart goes out to you and hopefully they'll send you a notification soon. It took Argentina about a week from the time the case was asked to be transferred for them to send me packet 3. I also advise to go to Colombia's sub-forum on VJ and read around to get an idea of their process.

Please let me know if I can do anything to help or support.

But why do we need a packet when all that information is online?

With all due respect, the embassy doesn't care that it's online.

Sometimes information that's online may be outdated or who knows but the embassy has their process and they stick to that process no matter what. If we try to skirt around their process, that's when things get really expensive and really ugly.

Trust me, I'm at almost a year of this process because one thing after another happened. It's not easy by any circumstance & I understand where y'all are coming from. Our emotions are heightened because we just want to be with our significant others ASAP. Bottom line is, we have to adhere to the embassy's process whether we like it or not.

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

No, I haven't gotten that. Buena suerte!

I did notice today that the calendar is open again to schedule your K1 visa on their website. It wasn't open for the last 5 day. Intersante...
