Hi,

Has Anyone Else Here Not Have 3 Yrs of Tax Returns and still get approved?

My Situation Is Such That The Money I Recieve Monthly For The Past 2 Yrs (with the expection of this yr) Has All Been TAX FREE.I've Been Divorced 3 Yrs Now and Haven't Had To File Taxes.I Have Lived Off Of Child Support And Adoption Assistance, Both Of Which Are Tax Free. Any Suggestions? Can I just attach A Letter Of Explaination Along With Proof Of That Money I Have Recieved Along With This Last Yrs (2005) Tax Return Since I've Now Been Employed For 7 Months Or Is This Going To Be A Huge Problem For Us...C0Sponsor Is Not An Option For Me. I've Read Many Post Regarding This Issue But The End Result From Those That I Have Read, Like Studants That Didn't Have Tax Returns Etc... All End Up Using CoSponsors.

Feeling Hopeless N Oregon! :(

Have you checked with others going through the same consulate?

In general...the I-134 is not always used but is mostly, and when it is, it is just one thing that a Conof will look at in determining if the applicant will or wont become a public charge. The I-134 is a lot less stringent then the I-864 which is what you will be using for adjustment of status once in the US. The I-864 also now only has a requirement for one years tax return so on your info posted you should be ok when it comes to using that. The I-134, also in general, uses 100% of the porverty guidelines. I dont see why you cant use documentation of the tax free income you receive...but someone with first hand knowledge or knows more may be able to help more in that area.
