I 130 Filing Process

Hi there, 

My name is Gabby and I'm looking for some advice or to see if anyone is in a similar situation. 

So at the time my boyfriend and I were traveling to Mexico for New Years, he had a visa for traveling in the U.S. but he was not allowed to work. On our way back to Arizona(we were driving)border patrol would not let us pass, all in all he was officially "removed" from the US for 5 years because he was working on a travel visa. My (as of now) husband has no previous offenses or any criminal history at all. We decided to get married and currently trying to get him back to Phoenix. I saw a lawyer in Phoenix and she told me there were 4 steps I would have to go through.

1. I 130 2. NVC 3. CDJ 4. T212

My husband and I filed the i 130 and got a case number on August 15th 2017. We have yet to recieve any further updates on our application. When I check on USCIS it just says the application is processing. 

However after doing some research Im a bit concerned as to whether the steps the lawyer gave me are the correct documents and order. Can anyone give me any insight? Whether its timeframes on the wait or if you have been in a similar situation.

Note: I am a U.S. citizen and he is a Mexican citizen.

Which immigration center did your application go to? If its with Nebraska anywhere between 9-12 months to get it approved and after that goes to Nebraska visa center 

It was Phoenix Arizona lock box.
